  1. No, but then again, I'm not the one saying Ryan fixed the future rotation with the players he got as if it's a fact. If you can tell me, for sure, our rotation is going to be fixed with those three, I'll rescind my comment. Mind you, I'm not the only one who said it. Also understand, I was very happy with those trades as I've said multiple times. But we don't know for sure he's fixed it. We know he's made a good effort to do so, which is not the same thing.
  2. Sorry, I just deleted that post...it wasn't going to take the debate anywhere. But, no, I didn't lean on any particular stat overall.
  3. I like looking at the whole picture. To throw out quality starts is short-sighted since it is a good barometer of what you want your starting pitcher to do in today's pitch count dominated game. Go a good amount of innings, keep the team in the game.
  4. No, I didn't bring him up in this thread. The OP brought Correia up. I responded about him and other points the OP brought up concerning Ryan's quotes. People focused on the Corriea part of my original post, which drove this. On top of that, I've tried to drop it and you keep coming back with him in replies to me, even when I don't even mention Correia. In any event, I'll try this again, done with the Correia part of this on this thread.
  5. ATTEMPTING to fix the rotation long term. Nothing wrong with that, but there's no guarantee there.
  6. What are the names of the pitchers you think are worth the Twins going after? Ones that they should get.
  7. Assuming the worst, or preparing for all contingenices based on recent history? How many arm issues have we seen settled by prolonged rest? We're wondering abotu whether or not he comes back in August when we don't even know what's stopping him from taking the mound to begin with.
  8. I have zero issues with letting Liriano go. There is no way to tell if he would have had the success with us that he's having now and the only thing that we can go by is how he did with us. Same thing with Gomez, while we're at it.
  9. Do you want me to copy and paste my posts from earlier in this thread showing where I disagree with points one and two there and continue this never ending circle, or should we just move on from Correia? Cause one of the rules of this place is not to keep hammering a point to try and prove you're right. I keep trying to move on, you keep bringing it up.
  10. What do we think about the FA starting pitching class for the upcoming offseason. Is it strong or weak?
  11. That it's unfortunate we may very well have to wait quite a bit longer for a guy we're all hoping can be somewhat of an ace and then there's the wonder if he'll come back the same. My point seemed pretty clear.
  12. Again, you keep saying the wrong guy. You wanna believe that, that's fine. Saying it as fact is surely premature, but that's your choice. I wouldn't be surprised at all if in the 2nd half Pelfrey ended up better than Correia considering the fact it's been trending that way for nearly a month now.
  13. he's acting as if no one could predict a serious problem with the rotation this year based on who we brought in. That's not hindsight, there were tons of fans questioning the rotation before spring training ever started.
  14. That's the rub though, isn't it? They can't even really find what the problem is now, and it's in the shoulder which, from what I understand, is much worse than an elbow thing. What if they do the whole rest thing, then it doesn't go away, and then they figure out the problem and surgery is needed? That scenario is hardly out of the realm of a real possibility.
  15. I'm not going back there and having the same debate we've already had on this thread. I've said my peace about him and his signing on this thread. We don't agree.
  16. Hindsight? Seriously? So there weren't plenty of people questioning the FA signing Pelfrey and Correia? There weren't people hesitant about signing a guy coming off of TJ surgery (Pelfrey) and hesitant about Worley coming off injury and how they'd do this year. And I don't think our other major FA pitching signing was expected to be that good either. Where's the hindsight?
  17. So basically, this is a wasted year for him.
  18. Rockies are ignored by the national media more than the Twins. Remember when they went to the World Series. They had ONE nationally televised that year, and that was a tie-breaking game 163. Holliday didn't get MVP and Tulo didn't win ROY because the writers forgot the Rockies played baseball until most of the votes were sent in.
  19. Advanced stat, like FIP? Yeah, I got slammed for that earlier in here. I have no issues with QS because everyone is judged the same way and I'm fine with the standard. Anyway, I didn't want to be rude, so I answered this last one, but like I said, I'm done with Correia part.
  20. I'm done with the Correia stuff, because it's been pointed out things are too negative around here and we don't want people to continue to debate in order 'to win'.
  21. Didn't Correia start the 2nd game of the season? He wasn't plugged in to be a #4 or #5. Look people keep mentioning his pay. Why? Why do we care? Don't we just want a quality team? YES, based on his FA pay, he's doing fine. But why do we have to qualify anyone's performance just because Ryan decided a starting rotation wasn't worth 12M combined? If we look at it that was, having the worst rotation the game, totally acceptable.
  22. All of our pitchers are getting paid that way, so we should have no expectations whatsoever? This is the arguably the worst MLB rotation, overall, in over a decade when looking at everything.
  23. I have zero issue with a quality start. You went at least 2/3 of the game (helping your bullpen, which is part of doing a good job) and giving up three or less earned runs (keeping your team in the game). Considering we live in the pitch count era, it's a good barometer of a good start. And I still don't care about how well he's doing relative to his paycheck. I'm a fan, not an owner or a FO. Why fans care about that is beyond me.
  24. I forgot to thank you for posting this. Nice job as usual Parker!
  25. Yeah, I pointed that out too. The again, we aren't supposed to expect the truth from Ryan. He'll convince some fans he's right and many of the ones who know he's fibbing give him a pass on it anyway cause integrity isn't important nor should it be expected.
