  1. I'm trying to think of a witty comment, but I got nothing. This feels like the losing streak to start the 2016 season. We're reaching the point of no return here.
  2. This game is so awful MLB gameday isn't working anymore. Maybe it's a sign I should do something else with my time.
  3. Look, I'm not a Paul Molitor fan, but what can you do as a manager when virtually every single one of your relievers have morphed into pumpkins? If the Twins keep playing like this, the Indians are going to win the Central with about a 35 game lead.
  4. And that's why DFA'ing Kinley and getting somebody else was a good idea. Nice job by Hale.
  5. I can't even blame Pressly for that triple. Hamilton golfed that pitch and was lucky it went fair.
  6. Duffey was mediocre last year, but my goodness, he's making Hughes look good now.
  7. The Reds are looking the part of a 100+ loss team.
  8. Hughes tried the mop-up role last year too and was just as bad. I'd just DFA him and get it over with. Duffey or somebody else can pitch those innings.
  9. I am not surprised at all that Hughes looks awful. He's been a shell of himself the past two seasons, why would he suddenly be good this year? It's nearly time to eat the contract and move on.
  10. THIS is the Morrison I thought we signed.
  11. Good stuff from the hitters! I guess all they needed was some bad pitching.
  12. If you're going to see Avengers Infinity War soon (it came out yesterday), then you're gonna want to see Black Panther first.
  13. I think another reason for the pitching futility has been the regression of the defense. Dozier's arm and range are limited, Sano can be a disaster sometimes, and Escobar doesn't have the range at short. Awful throws from outfielders have factored in, too. I ain't excusing Rodney for his incompetence, though. They should get him to pitch some low leverage innings before they think about having him try to save a game.
  14. Though Grossman would be starting at DH without Morrison, and his hitting has been just as putrid as Morrison's.
  15. I expect Garver's bat to come around soon. His defense? Not sure about that. Suzuki has been bad defensively, but wow, I didn't think he'd hit like that in Atlanta.
  16. Thank goodness. I'm thinking we'll see Slegers or Curtiss, but unfortunately this isn't going to fix much.
  17. Look, I really want some roster shake-up too, but Slegers is a AAAA talent who barely projects to be a #5 pitcher in the rotation. If Lynn is going anywhere, it's to the DL with a mysterious injury. For as bad as he's looked, I wouldn't put him behind Hughes yet... Phil has at least two seasons of poor pitching to his name, Lynn has 4 starts.
  18. Well, I'll check back on the Rooker situation in a few months and see how he's doing. I just find it hard to believe that 80 PAs is all it takes for a hitter to become the next ABW. I was mainly referring to Trout's subpar 135 PAs in his rookie year, though now looking at the game log, it seemed it was the tail end of those 135 PAs where he didn't hit as well and not as much the first 80, so perhaps that wasn't the best comparison.
  19. Gonsalves and Gordon should be getting promotions to AAA very soon... I don't know what the holdup is. These guys should/might be contributing to the big league club sooner than later.
  20. All it takes is 80 plate appearances to become a non-prospect? Well then, the Angels should have give up on Mike Trout when his first 80 PAs looked bad. Rooker's path to the majors has been accelerated and he's struggling upon reaching the upper minors. I'm not surprised that he's striking out a lot - he's got plenty of time to adjust and learn how to hit AA pitchers. I have little to no concerns for him in the long run.
  21. Good stuff, Andrew. It's interesting to see Kinley's at the point where his velocity could potentially start declining. It's just another reason to end the experiment.
  22. If an infielder gets hurt, Adrianza becomes a starter (unless it's 1B) and Petit probably gets added to the 40 man roster. If a catcher gets hurt, they'll choose between Bobby Wilson and Williams Astudillo. Polanco will be back in two months. Most teams don't have much depth at catcher. These depth issues are the least of the Twins' problems right now.
  23. Wow, Cobb giving up 15 runs in 2 starts is pretty bad... but yeah, the pitchforks would be out if they signed Darvish, even though he's only 4 starts in.
  24. It would be nice if one of the young relievers could come up and pitch well, but we're just not getting that. Hildy's struggling after he did that last year and Moya & Busenitz both had opportunities to show they belonged and couldn't do it.
