  1. I guess that whole "I hurt my ankle" think was just setting up that AB.
  2. After 100 games the Twins are batting .738 with bases empty, .715 with men on, and .674 with RISP.
  3. Good thing Centeno's catching today eh? Molitor's a genius.
  4. Twins have allowed four of the 12 first pitch homers in baseball this season.
  5. Park must've seen the lineup card. 3 bombs today, 8 in last 10 games. I think the Gross train has run out of track.
  6. That seems to be the consensus, from what I've read. I wonder how cheap it has to get before someone deems it worth buying out. Back in 2014 this source thought its brand value alone was worth $14b. Today the company is only valued at $11B. http://www.adweek.com/news/advertising-branding/google-beats-apple-list-world-s-most-valuable-brands-157868
  7. Any thoughts on Twitter? Its down big today and trading near a 52 week low.
  8. Whether he is named GM or not, Antony is under contract for 2017, DSP says.
  9. Someone correct me but I'm 99% sure it wouldn't. There would be no "Optional assignment" if he didn't return to the minors for 20 cumulative days. But rostering him now would be 2 seasons premature, at least as Rule 5 considerations go.
  10. One of the NFLX directors bought 600k shares over the last three days so its getting a bump. I hold NFLX and will continue holding. Its programming is expanding into French, Japanese, etc. and I can think of no good reason viewers in those places wouldn't soak it up just as people here soak up the English language shows.
  11. Would you consider selling a covered call? Could generate some income from it that way and continue to hold.
  12. Well yeah, the sinker is all he throws. His offspeed stuff is so bad he can't go to it. He is what Mike Pelfrey would look like in the pen. Its a matter of time before hitters expose him because all they have to do is sit on the fastball.
  13. That was a joke, they're both really good shows. But after watching them I've started to think I've been a little reckless with my savings yeah.
  14. Over the weekend I watched Boom Bust Boom and The Big Short in succession. Word of advice to anyone holding stocks or index funds, don't do that.
  15. June 20, or thereabouts: JP: TR, this is very hard for me to say, because your name is synonymous with Twins Baseball, has been for 30 years. You've given so much to this organization... (pause) TR: I understand, Jim. JP: But these last 5 years, we have not accomplished what we hoped. TR: Certainly not. JP: The last three in particular. TR: No, sir. I get it. JP: I don't think you do Terry. TR:... JP: Plouffe. His reasonable price tag and right handed power. His affable clubhouse presence and surprisingly improved glove. TR:... JP: Its really been a drag on this team. And so we've got to let you go. TR:
  16. I assumed by "lesser assets" you meant the 24th or 25th guys on the roster. Escobar, Centeno, etc. My mistake. I think you're getting hung up on specifics. I'm only suggesting that a major trade in the next 9 days, one that signals a plan of some kind- rebuilding or reloading (I doubt it matters), just something bold, would sway a segment of the base into his corner and give him an advantage for the GM job. What that trade might look like specifically I don't know. Dozier for Zimmer is maybe a bad example.
  17. I doubt another Fuld-for-Milone or Herrmann for Palka type deal would move the needle for potential ticket buyers. If ticket sales are linked to excitement, than a big trade would help Antony's chances, whether that is Dozier or someone else (there's not many other trade chips). Just as fans considered the 2012 offseason a success when TR traded two starting players including Revere (who was somewhat of a fan favorite too). Almost universally lauded at the time, lots of buzz. The only question in my mind is whether a big trade would generate more excitement than an outside hire of someone like Ben Cherington. Maybe it wouldn't. But it would certainly pressure JP to remove the interim label just as he did after TR made those trades in 2012 IMO. Moves like that give the impression you have a plan and are working swiftly to execute it.
