You might be right but 1. Trump's policies are really not that out of line from the rest of the candidates. They're actually more reasonable in some cases (ie on taxes). And b. R's want to beat Hillary, whether that guy comes with a pedigree or not is secondary. And the polls in Iowa and SC indicate that the base is starting to realize another evangelical is going to be crushed in a general. Trump is the only one who stands a chance.
I think you might be conflating a thought process with regional biases - basically an evangelical bias in Iowa and SC. That was the case in 2008 and 2012 with Huckabee and Santorum both evangelicals whereas McCain and Romney were not. Today, the fact that Trump is leading in evangelical states and dominating in NH should tell us something about how things are different this time.
I think the polls in this case are telling a truer story mainly that the most compelling candidate is leading whereas I would say in '12 and '08 Iowa picked the "wrong" guy. Say what you will about Romney and McCain but they were more compelling candidates than Scrotum and Huckabee by a long shot. There is nobody more compelling than Trump in this field currently, that becomes more obvious by the day.

Trump within MoE or leading in 3/6 polls dating back to mid-November.
Well he is going to win the nom and has a better chance at the general than most people think. Ignoring him won't make him go away. The only thing that is stopping him is more compelling candidate and I'm not sure there's one yet including Hillary.

There is some space between 20/21 y/o phenom and advancing at a reasonable pace for a top 10 pick. So far Stewart is on track to repeat High A in his 4th year, no?
I think the idea is 270 is a lot of weight on the joints and hammies etc regardless of whether its muscle or fat. I'm not sure how much truth there is to that since the ligaments etc might be proportional in strength (or not). And its not like he'd be standing totally still at 3B either. I actually worry more about Sano injuring someone else in the field, namely Buxton or whoever is in Center.
Right, MADD outlobbied the alcohol industry to get those laws passed, that's how the system works. There are several anti-gun groups out there for people who are passionate about this. It does not require a culture change, just members & dollars.
Question - how big can a cookie be before it is considered something else, like a sandwich. Eg. could an ice cream sandwich be considered just a bigger Oreo cookie?
What about Stewart, had he moved up or down in the ranking by mid-season?
Basically I'm wondering if KLaw puts his money where his mouth is or if his rankings move along with everyone else's - which basically reflect the statistical production.
edit: * stats, adjusted for level/age that is.
All it will take is one injury to Sano/Park/Plouffe/Mauer to make this a moot point. I'd put the over/under of that happening to at least one of them (cough Mauer cough) at 90%.
OK, the nationaldaycalendar.com calendar. However tomorrow could be a crisis as no food is listed for that day on that calendar.

One LHP who showed up on MLBTR's non-tender candidate list that caught my eye is Marc Rzepczynski. 30 years old, career .215/.285/.288 vs LHBs. The Padres gave up Abraham Almonte for him, who did well with the Tribe but was more of a journeyman/backup before the trade. Maybe the Twins could get Rzepczynski for Nunez or Fien?
