  1. um the high priced free agents pitched great ...Grienke and Sanchez , it was many of the 2nd tier starters who struggled
  2. Well ownership will have to give up some of there profits ....hehehe or just raise ticket prices, and get a real regional tv contract
  3. My question is why would Drew sign with the Twins? Would you go from a championship team , to one that is in the middle of a 5 year rebuild? To me there is about a 03% chance we will sign him
  4. Wouldnt Buxton be the 2nd coming of Mauer? so that would make Sano the 2nd coming of Justin, right?
  5. Agreeing keeping lil Ben would not have gained us 27 additional wins, but keeping a few of the 22 players we have let go in the last 4 years and maybe signing a few quality free agents to add to the mix could have gained us 25-30 additional wins, As for Bens future with the Twins,he would still be contributing this year and next as well , but yes I understand that 1 player doesnt make a championship team, but when you continue to down grade at every chance and have a 22 man turnover and continully to seek 1 dimenstional players because they are cheaper , well thats how you have 4 consecutive years of 90+ losses
  6. So your saying the Twins couldnt have used Ben last year ? What was out leadoff OBP last year, how many times did we have catchers in the outfield? There was a need for Revere last year and posibly this year as well
  7. What was leaque average last year? Im guessing this year it will be close to 4 million , so I have no problem with these 3 players getting close to Half of leaque average ,especially since there probally wont be any more big signings this year.
  8. Sorry to disagree, as soon as the trade was made I looked at Worleys numbers and thought , hey this is a pretty darn good trade, then after chatting on the Phillies site , I learned that he was twice hurt and never the same after his 1st stint on the DL, and looking at Mays numbers it was obvious he stumbled his 1st year in AA and listening to the experts that his future was in the pen , I started to wonder just how good this trade was .....
  9. Im not as concerened for this year as I am for the future, Adding a solid defensive SS with some offensive skills and speed ,that would give us some hope if Santana proves to be only a utility player instead of a starting shortstop. It also saves some coin , (not much but some ) and frees up some space on the 40 man roster
  10. Didnt Florimon have 40+ errors each of his last 2 seasons in the minors?
  11. Or with Texas losing Holland , maybe Terry should look to ease the log jam of soon to be out of option pitchers and a prospect for the Rangers #2 prospect sardinas?
  12. Twins sit today at about 4 million more then the 79 million they spent in 2009. According to 2 different money Mags the Twins projected to earned 214 and 215 million last year , now add in the national TV increase of 26 million and the all star bump of 30 million , (also im guessing we will see an increase in attendence this season +300,000) so even without the attendence increase the Twins are projected to earn 270 million in 2014
  13. So how much of there 3,908,600 dollars have the Minnesota Twins and Terry W Ryan spent in the international market?
  14. Entitlement? The Minnesota Twins belong to the fans.....Pohlads only hold the paper on them and pocket the profits. They made promises when they asked for 350 million to build there new stadium. Now all im asking is for them to keep there word. I have supported this team since i was old enough to understand the game.I have cheered for them, cried for them,( see Harmon as a Royal, or Rod as an Angel) been broken hearted and even bled for them ( when i was 7, Rod stole home and I jumped up and down on the sofa and my dad took the razor strap to me)Collected cards, posters balls and bats. I attended games when there were only 6,000 people in attendence and 5,000 were kids shipped in from school. Now most fans have storys ,memorys, So to me the Twins belong to us..... The Fans without our money ,there wouldnt be any team So telling me to quit supporting them because ownership wants to make bigger profits ...well If i finished that statment im sure to get banned. Lets hope we can all agree we want OUR Minnesota Twins to be back on top , instead of where they are now, even if we disagree about how to get there
  15. With Masahiros Tanakas wife wanting to be on the West coast and the Yankees wanting him , Minnesotas only chance at signing him is to a much shorter contract say a 2 or 3 year deal
  16. 70+ bp balls, and 2 ground rule doubles in the same game from Matt Lawton
  17. Yes, the Twins shouldnt be looking at more starting pitchers ? Hopefully come june that is still true. The ones we did sign are all hope , hope they can heal, hope they can turn it around ,hope they can be competitive for a losing club. As we are still looking at another losing season , to me it is better to sign kids, we should have around 1.5 million left in international money to spend before july 2nd and there is a couple of Cubans who play in positions we can use help in Bello at catcher and Diaz at shortstop
  18. Isint Brown just a younger version of Willingham (bad defense)? But I like the Idea of adding through trades, Baltimore has a 27 year old lefty catcher they got fron S.F. named Monell, who I would like to have, or maybe make a run at JJ Hardy again, since he is set to be a free agent, of course my 1st choice is A.Diaz(5 years of team controll)
  19. Apperently the Twins are still in on him , so they must think he is a quality player, So really all it would take would be money , and they still have a buttload left to spend this year, so if it was me , Id not only sign Diaz, but look long and hard at Bello the catcher as well
  20. So after pocketing over 100 million in profits over the last 3 years, you believe it is ok for ownership and the front office to once again not spend there 50-54% which this year would put the teams payroll at around 127.5 million? After 3 straight 95+losses seasons ,the team should take a wait and see attitude? As for signing Drew, I would much rather see Terry W Ryan sign Diaz and have a young guy grow up with the team , then have an often hurt average defender who costs us the 45th pick...Just saying
  21. Just move Mauer to 3rd now ....
  22. 1 Your giving up a top 45 draft pick in a pitcher heavy draft 2 Drew had an ok year in hitter friendly Fennway.... 3 A Diaz has proven himself on the international stage 4 I would rather have a young kid growup with the team, and be here for 5 or more years then to sign a declining veteran.... 5 If we were a .250 hitter away from making a playoff run ,then maybe I think about wasting the money(30+ million) but the Twins are hoping for 70-80 win season , so it makes no sense to sign Drew.....
  23. So we build the Palace and then we dont keep our quality players? You dont think if we end up with another Joe and Justin , that Terry W.Ryan wont keep them both?
  24. Signing Drew and giving up the draft pick , would be comparible to re-signing Nishi... Save the Money and Sign the Cuban kid Diaz.....
  25. So we add 1 good pitcher 3/4 type , then add 2( hopes) and that is good? we have the room , we have the money, make the team better, right?
