  1. That is a very good sign , I was just trying to explain his drop on the list....Sano and all players will struggle at times during there careers, the good ones adjust , those who dont , end up have very short careers...Me thinks Miguel will have a long career...
  2. He raked against the bottom 3rd pitchers and struggled against the top 3rd.... and if you say he didnt struggle , why did he drop 11 places?
  3. The real question is, what would we have to pay for him? with the Yankees and Dodgers showing interest, im guessing we will have to out bid them ....Apperently 8 teams have interest in Santana , so he probally will either go where he has the best chance to win , or to the highest dollar, since we cant offer the 1st, we will have to out bid the rest if we want him
  4. Compare Nolascos last 4 years with Santanas, and what do you see? Pretty simple if you ask me.
  5. Well lets look at Sano at 14, he struggled in AA, then got hurt, or was hurt during the season, so to me this is ok, it just means he will have to show he is healthy and can adjust to better pitchers. at least he didnt go from #4 to off the list. Remember 1 in 4 prospect make it , and even less become stars, I think Sano will have a good career, but wether or not it is Miggy type or a Dunn type , only time will tell Go Sano
  6. yes if you are correct , you get to enjoy the Twins 4th 90+ loss season .....and get to wittness Terry W Ryans 10 year contract extention ....
  7. Well Garza is gone
  8. Would be nice to have other options in the wings , other then Herrmann and Fryer. By signing Garza , that would make Correia avalible to trade ,and coming off Kevins career year this is the time to trade him. 2 catcher who come to mind are of course Johnny Monnel and Stassi from Huston. Im sure there are others who would fit the bill, but the Idea is to have more then Plan A and hope
  9. Front loading a contract to say Garza make sense not only for the teams Payroll, and future ability to have some space, but it would make sense if the Twins went further then 31 million in the 1st year, say they paid him 40 million this year ,and only 4 million per ,for the last 3 years. The Twins would only have to insure the 1st year of his contract, allowing them to save on insurance premiums over the last 3 years.and it would make him a valueble trading chip. Imaging in 2015 having a #2 type pitcher who is only owed 8 million for 2 years combined
  10. Just read the latest headlines in MLBR and I got excited, it read... Garza...Twins,Indians. wow yiipppiiieeeee then it went on to say that the Brewers and Garza were still talking . The Twins had a piece about Colabellos decision not to chase money and kubel being set for a corner outfield position and DH
  11. Well I hope we sign Garza and Diaz, then trade Correia (he had his career year ) and maybe some AAAA starters along with a reliever or 2 for more catching and middle infield prospects. Everyone remember when most wanted Willingham moved after his career years, and we didnt? How did that work out?
  12. If you lose your draft pick , you lose the slot money that goes with it , so no
  13. Agreeing with all most all of that statement Brock, except the part about letting a magic bean stand in your way,if he will be here in June or July ,fine is 1 thing, but not to upgrade because he might be here in 2 or 3 years is another, especially if you look at how many get injurred or struggle , then you are looking at 3-4 years .Basically the lenght of said contract
  14. Wait till Febuary 19th and sign Aledmys Diaz.....and sign his former teamate Yenier Bello now , so Diaz has a friendly face to help him decide which team to go to,And so if Pinto struggles , we dont have an entire season of Herrmann and Kurt
  15. I like that you are thinking out side of the box, some thing seldom done within this team, Rather then trade for an established starter, maybe trade for the guy behind those players? or maybe Sardinas who is blocked by Profar and Elvis?
  16. only time will tell if it was for Pitchers .....
  17. So why not front load a contract and then trade him in 2 years ? you know for a left fielder, shortstop or a catcher? Rule #1 you can never have to much pitching, right?
  18. So you would give up a draft pick to sign a PEDs user to a 1 year contract? And how much would you be willing to give him?
  19. Rather then Drew or Cruz, I would like to see Diaz,Garza,Yenier Bello in that order. If we sign Garza, that means Correia is avalible for trade ,and both Baltimore and Huston need a veteran starter yet, and both have catchers we could use in,Johnny Monell and Stassi
  20. Huh the Twins are 5th? funny deal
  21. why would it be ridiculous? To me front loading a contract in a year where we have a big pile of unspent money, makes sense, it increases Garza trade value later, it lowers the next 3 years payroll , not hindering us ,if we need a leftfielder or shortstop in the future
  22. I say keep the standards high , and no manager who hasnt won a world series, or cant spell world series:jump:
  23. Apperently the deal isnt complete, maybe Terry should make a call to Garzas agent and offer him the same money just front load it 31 million the 1st year and 7 million each of the last 3 years? see if we can get him to move West a little?
  24. No Justin and an honest score keeper , and his error totals might triple
  25. Yes and his early off season remarks about being more then willing to return to Minnesota , could simply have been a ruese to build more bidding , but I will take the player at his word, and believe that if the Twins were competitive or had given him a better deal , he would of happily returned to the Twins
