    So who replaces Burton or Fien if they struggle? Having options is a bad thing? Last year it sure would have been nice to have an additional option in center field , Me thinks.

    ok So first people say we cant afford Tanaka, spending like that is crazy , now people say signing a lower tier player makes no sense cause he isnt worth the leaque minimum? If he isint back he can go to AAA , if he makes the pen , then we have an asset that allows us to maybe trade another player or 2 , to help the offense or to add a prospect to help the future

    since 2009 ended we have lost 22 of the 25 players on that 25 man roster. Only Joe Mauer, Glen Perkins and Duensing remain

    Pirates? rebuilding for 20 years....Indians rebuilding for 10+ years and last year went out and spent money,As well they have this guy named Bean he kind of has this wierd idea about using stats and things like that , also they ponied up Cespedes , and the Rays what can 1 say about the Rays....they have a much better manager then ours , they have better scouting department then ours and of course they have a General manager with a pair of balls....

    you should beable to catch most of them on mlbtv maybe under the oppents broadcaste, they will be a schedual of games telecast avalible on mlbtv

    I would agree if the extra money was banked for the future, but a team whos owners are in banking, find it to confusing to stash money away for the future. So if it comes down to spend it or give to ownership ...I say spend it, buy a couple of good free agents, then trade them come july to add to your minor leaque system,that way Ownership gets to keep half the money and we get some good young players,for the future

    um as we sit (without Kubel) we are the same as last years opening day? how is that adding payroll?switching out contract to create an illusion of adding payroll is what the front office does best ....

    How about the argument that if you dont pay ,you dont play(in the post season)? it is better to bank money then to put a quality product on the field? or finally how about this... If you pay them , they will come....

    2013 earnings of 215 million +25 million in new tv revenue+30 million in all star game revenue thats if we dont have an increase in ticket sales which I expect will happen to the tune of 300,000 more sold.Even without additional ticket sales we will stand to earn 270 million x 50% leaves us at 135 million payroll for 2014...instead we are spending 4 million more then we did in 2009 ,our last year at the Dome, we are currently 53 million under ownerships limit for payroll, and will once again compete for 5th place in the Central...why sugar coat it, if everyone of our players had average years and some of the kids broke out along with 2 or 3 career years we could posibly make it to the middle of the pack...the money is there , but it wont be spent to improve this team ,for proof 1 only has to look at the international market of the 3,908,600 dollars that we were allowed to spend , did we even spend 2.5 million of it? It would be a big difference in my attitude if we bankrolled some of the teams profits for the future, but if it is spend it or lose it...I for one say spend it

    Texas has been linked to Bruce Chen to replace Holland, Maybe they would like Gilmartin or Diamond along with a prospect, maybe Harrison ? If we were to add Garza, that makes Correia expendible maybe a package of Kevin, Bard and another prospect for Stassi? I only picked these 2, Im sure there are others out there that could help .Stassi is blocked in Huston behind Castro and Sardinas is blocked by 2 players in Texas. But my thinking is if Pinto doesnt pan out as a catcher , whats plan B? Herrmann, Fryer? wait for Turner? I wish we had moved on Johnny Monell for cash from the Giants , a nice hitting decent defensive lefty hitting catcher .

    My point was to stack prospects, you know in case we have pinto turn into Parm part Deux. at this point I dont see this team going any where in 2014 maybe battle the Chi-Sox for 5th place, so lets move some parts add some more prospects to the fold , that could help us when we are ready to compete, as for Stassi and Sardinas, where is it written they wont be as good as Pinto or Polanco? So right now we dont know, but I like having multipul quality prospects per position,If both work out you keep the best and trade the other to help fill holes you still have

    At this point , the best thing that could happen is to offer garza a front loaded 3+1 contract worth about 17 million per and then trade Corriea and some of the out of option pitchers,We have holes to fill in the outfield SS and catcher , to me trading for sardinas from texas and Stassi © from huston go a long way to add to the depth of the team and gives us better odds of fill holes we have. It would have been nice to make a Big splash with Tanaka, but now we need to fill holes with guys that can be part of the future .....Time to drink a coupla RedBulls and get back to work Terry

    You mean besides recieving a twice hurt damaged pitcher and a failed starter in AA? how about Darren Ruf and Petitbone?

    So by adding a #3/4 type starter and 2 pitchers who posted identical 5.19 ERAs are what you think is building a winning staff? making a run at post season? Spend the money and add quality , even if you trade off that quality to add quality prospects, but to pocket 80+ in profits when your team has lost 95+ losses for the last 3 years is a joke, as we sit now we are 4 million dollars more in payroll in 2014 then we were in 2009....4 million
