  1. I would be pretty surprised if they don't have him locked in after having the night to negotiate. Probably just waiting for Leach to sign to save enough cash.
  2. Getting shoulder surgery. Likely out all of next year too, potentially a career ender. Huge shame.
  3. But it worked just fine, so brilliant.
  4. I'm actually pretty stunned Molitor went with Hildenberger here.
  5. Good passion in this thread.
  6. Therr isn't a trade, but they could theoretically trade him to any team during the dfa period.
  7. How dare you talk about Boshers like that! But yes, strange list to use in support of Melotakis.
  8. And maybe adding some lean fat in Reed and Curtiss soon.
  9. I agree he won't be cheap, but Sano is one of the most valuable assets in baseball right now.
  10. Thought he was already let go.
  11. Fair point on depth chart realities. But realistically Rockies wouldn't do that for similar reasons, they have a better ss prospect than Gordon.
  12. Rondon is the guy I'd think most likely if he can get healthy. But I wouldn't trade Gordon for him or Freeland right now. On your other point, Mets were never going to trade Conforto. That was serious nonsense flowing around national writers.
  13. That I mostly agree with. Little reason to accept that package now.
  14. They were likely disappointed no one took Park and his salary off their hands.
  15. If he's hurt, dl is just delaying the inevitable.
  16. Phils won't get much for Neshek though. Non elite relievers on the last year don't fetch much.
  17. That would explain a lot.
  18. And out of curiosity what do people think "more to the story" would possibly mean?
  19. Isn't the most obvious answer that the front office just doesn't think he's that good or that he's broken? Despite being on the 40 man he has been passed multiple times for a promotion to the bigs. Does make the AAA promotion curious though.
  20. I don't disagree, there are certainly needs for reform. I would open up incident investigations more for starters. Much can flow from that. I understand why police unions push back, but I think they're misguided and it ultimately harms police in the long run.
  21. For clarity, I wasn't ignoring Turner, he was mentioned as struggling in the post I quoted, so didn't see the need to repeat his name. He's a good player, struggles this year notwithstanding. Still would rank Conforto as most likely to be best in the class. Gordon 2, Turner 3, Schwarber 4. But a lot can change. Wouldn't be stunned if an arm goes off.
  22. Poverty, broken homes, mental illness, drug addiction for starters.
  23. The answer to your question is no. If Melotakis was a fit, they would have likely called him up over 2 guys not on the 40. It will remain to be seen if the front office can evaluate pitching, but we do tend to overrate marginal relievers in the minors, though perhaps fairly considering the current state of the major league pen.
  24. Everything else might be right, but the A's absolutely want to move Gray this summer. And they aren't silly enough to ask for Sano.
  25. Thats comes later after he's added to the 40 man.
