  1. The UFO thing was weird, but that's part of the charm of Fargo. I thought it was a good episode and I definitely didn't see this season concluding with Hanzee basically wiping everybody out.
  2. I will say this, Trump is an awful human, but let's be real about Hillary: she's pretty terrible too. Would it shock anyone if tomorrow, for political expediency, she became a Republican? It's a sad state of affairs that we look at Hillary Clinton as a shining beacon of a candidate. Pretty sure I'm sitting this election out. By which, of course, I mean voting for Kodos.
  3. Big Shelby Miller deal to Arizona.
  4. Heres annother angle, moving Sano to the outfield effectively makes Rosario our best left handed power threat by a significant margin
  5. I could be wrong but to caucus do you not have to be a party member? If so then no thanks, I dont want to officially associate with either stupid party.
  6. Exactly right. I bet Harper has more effort than average, just because on one stupid play he knew he was out he jogged doesn't deserve anything. Guys do that all the time. Kirby Puckett did it all the time. Paul Molitor did it all the time. Every guy ever that has grounded to second with two outs and a guy at first has jogged while the infielders (also jogging) make the easy play at second. It's so preposterous to demand constant full speed play as if that actually exists as a real thing. It never has. It never will.
  7. If that is a "lack of effort" than every player who has every played professional baseball has shown a "lack of effort" many, many, MANY times. So when it's highlighted it usually has more to do with the accuser than the accused.
  8. Well, I think we're at the root of the problem: People think physical assault is equivalent to jogging during a pop-up. Good lord. Anyone who thinks there has ever been a player who ALWAYS hustles ever play is delusional. Guys jog. Guys sometimes don't even leave the box on a dribbler to the pitcher. Guys get frustrated with failing in a big spot and jog when they know the force is at second. This happens all the time. With all players. The notion that "always hustle!" is even a real thing is utterly preposterous. What Papelbon did was pure jackassery - trying to make an example out of the best young player on the team because the team was struggling.
  9. More than I thought but I'd still take that over what Madsen got.
  10. Honestly, with writing like this - I have confidence they can do any era they want with any characters they want. This season of Fargo has made me basically buy into giving anything Noah Hawley does a more than fair shot going forward. Even better that the geek in me is psyched that he's writing the X-men spin-off Legion. Already booked to watch that.
  11. We do Jeri Ryan and you do Jerry O'Connell? That's the best I could do....
  12. Think about the pleasant mental image you'll now have every time you talk about Terry Ryan! It's win, win really.
  13. I say we make it official and refer to Terry Ryan only as "7 of 9" from now on.
  14. Molly and Ryan being on different pages about the Sano move is interesting. Is it possible they plan for Buxton to be in the minors and an outfield of Sano-Rosario-Arcia? And yes, I'm cringing at that too.
  15. The Madson contract might mean upgrading our bullpen will be more expensive than it first appeared it would be. They still have plenty of money to do it though.
  16. At BYTO we had a lot of word filters and code names that just developed over time. Terry Ryan was almost always referred to as Jerry, not for denigrating purposes but as a running joke from someone's mistake. Plus he just looks more like a Jerry.
  17. I could realistically see this team virtually any of these choices. I think that's the nature of a young team with a lot to still prove.
  18. I would agree that Sano's size is going to make his time in the field probably a relatively short window because 162 games at that size will be hard on his body. But he's also just a big guy, so his body structure and natural musculature might not make it as scary a proposition as some here are making it.
  19. Look, I'm against him being an OF. But people are claiming the 270 is "overweight" when 270 pounds can look very different on different people.
  20. MLB has too much money. How about you lower my ticket prices a little bit.
  21. Yes, he's probably not shredded. But most people are saying "270 means he must be fat!" for all intents and purposes. He's a muscular kid, muscle weighs a lot. People are making way, way too much of his weight.
  22. Comparing Sano's body type to Shabazz and Love is a mistake. Shabazz and Love were fat and lost weight. Sano weighs 270 pounds because he's musclebound. The weight "issue" here is preposterous.
  23. To me this seems like the most plausible explanation.
  24. The FBI definition, as I understand it, has a political component that they aren't sure exists in this case. That's my understanding as to why there is hesitation to call it terrorism.
  25. It's certainly an odd case of terrorism if indeed it is. I was just posting what a lot of people were reporting about the story this morning.
