  1. They canned coaches instead. It's hard to argue that the GM is building worse rosters and more that the rosters are underperforming in a small sample. If I'm assigning small sample blame for that, I tend to blame the coach. Or just plain bad luck.
  2. If some of these deals had dealt better returns than I'm good with it, but yeah, constantly adding an extra 7 does nothing for me. Move a 4 this year for a 4 next year and a 5? Sure. For two fives or a five and a 7? No, no thanks.
  3. I don't think anyone was blaming America for it, just suggesting it's a component to the equation. I think it's fair to wonder if the influence is all that positive at this point. I also question the suggestion that if America pulls out that NK will start launching attacks on SK. China isn't going to be a big fan of that and ultimately, they seem to be the ones with the only direct leash on that regime.
  4. Fuller or Orlovsky in the last round might be nice to snag.
  5. Yeah, I dig the Hodges pick. It probably flames out, but if it doesn't you've got really huge upside.
  6. No market behaves the way you suggest Dave. Nor should they.
  7. Not real happy about that last trade down. Too many talents available to give it for two late 5ths.
  8. I'd still love to take Leggett or Butt to convince the team to replace Rudolph. Some solid Gs and Ts still out there, though I liked Dorian Johnson a lot. Sad he got sniped.
  9. Put me down for Dorian Johnson, Jordan Leggett, or Jaleel Johnson with our next pick. We slid down 5 more spots for a throwaway pick.
  10. They got 104, 132, and 160 something for pick 86. Basically gave them back the picks they used to trade up.
  11. If I'm Sano, I want to see that this is a place worth staying before I ink that. In a year we could just as easily be looking at a mini-rebuild again as we could competing.
  12. Elflein should step in right now as RG, that's my guess.
  13. There are still some very solid OL on the board. And we just traded up to get Elfein as I post this. So there is a G/C combo guy and at 86 we may still be able to get another guy. There are some good DTs still out there too. Brantley could be a steal.
  14. Cook was a first round talent. Some people saw him as a top 10 pick. With the best OL off the board, I'm perfectly ok with this.
  15. I think doing as much as they can to keep this roster as is is the best move. Unless you can flip Suter for someone else, I think that might be a good thing.
  16. This is actually false. They took away the slot, but we were absolutely crashing the net.
  17. I'm really not surprised that steady playing time and work at one position has made these guys better fielders. It really shouldn't surprise anyone. What's surprising is how long it took to get here.....
  18. You're right, it depends on who is there. Feeney, Dawkins, Lamp, and Robinson would all be guys I'd consider over Kamara. I just see Kamara as a LeVeon Bell-light type of back, that has enormous value. There are a few DL I'd consider too - McDowell comes to mind. Budda Baker and a few DBs too. I guess the long way of saying - they'll have some good options by the time they pick. Possibly into the third as well.
  19. Also, it's not like the Wild are the only ones this is happening to. Many of the top seeds this year are eating bad, small sample defeats. And they can't even point to playing well in their series.
  20. I'm not worried about money, I'm worried about getting his no-move clause out of consideration for the expansion draft.
  21. I agree, I like Cook, the Stanford kid, and Kamara more than Fournette. I'd still take Alvin Kamara if he falls to us too. Also, the Texans just gave the Browns their first and second next year because they can't figure out their QB situation. The Browns and Niners had brilliant nights, the Bears and Texans looked like idiots. Some solid OL, RB, and DL on the board still - I'm good with any of those.
  22. That was hyperbole. And I was using it to poke at the idea that these unwritten rules are the lone decent sheriff, maintaining law and order in a game that would otherwise turn into the Wild West. The people who defend this nonsense often suggest that the unwritten rules are the only thing keeping the game from spiraling out of control. That it's "better" than the alternative. Yet it's demonstrably, undeniably true that these unwritten rules lead to confusion and altercations. (whether you like that or not is another thing) So what exactly are they providing? Why put up with the stupidity?
  23. Really looking forward to it.
  24. You think this is hyperbole? Bo Porter had his team throw at Jed Lowrie for bunting against the shift in the first inning of a game. And Colby Lewis - doing a double stupid. Now, I can't verify if Rasmus was thrown at later by Lewis or not, but there it is. So not hyperbole at all. This nonsense happens all the time, just those of you that get all geared up seeing grown men act like 4 year olds look past how utterly and totally ridiculous it usually is.
  25. If only there had been a period of time in which we could have, spitballing here, added players who were available to our team. You know, guys who might be free to sign with new teams or something......
