  1. You cite opening day starting nods? Quick.....tell them about Kevin Correia! They're 25th in the league in starter's ERA. I don't think they'd be opposed to adding arms to help them, now whether Pelfrey is that or not is a different question. However, Navarro is hardly asking for a huge haul.
  2. With the kind of contact guys have been getting off of Fien lately, we may have even more problems ahead.
  3. The Jays are pretty desperate for starting pitching help. I'm not saying they do it, but I think it's a pretty reasonable suggestion.
  4. His path took him too far to LF and offtrack of the flight path. He had to go over the shoulder because he didn't have time to correct his route. Great concentration to do that, but it wouldn't have looked so tough if his path had been correct in the first place.
  5. It was lucky, bad route, but it was excellent concentration after that mistake.
  6. He made that look a lot more difficult than it was, but glad he caught it.
  7. Pelfrey sure justified my frustration tonight.
  8. Yeah, I'm referencing Pelfrey. I think Milone has earned his spot.
  9. I really, really don't like that decision. This just stinks of veteran coddling.
  10. We have/had like four threads about Sano. Maybe, just maybe, that explains it. Or we could just be excited about Sano being up.
  11. Generally I agree, but Vargas looked pretty lost. The mistake was sending him down the first time, this time seems justified. But this team is caught in a weird in-between of rebuilding and contending and that is forcing them to act in a weird in-between way.
  12. I know I'm going to be tuned in tomorrow to see him hit. Patient with the expectations people. Let the kid adapt.
  13. The guy has really proven that extension to be a smart thing and steadied his play considerably.
  14. Good thing I have a new Batman game to play!
  15. My god that is one ugly slide. Put that one on the top of the offseason list of "things to work on" along with general base running/stealing.
  16. If May is the one that loses his spot....I may lose my mind.
  17. I like a lot here, except I wish Mauer and Dozier were flipped.
  18. Obviously, but he's had trouble when he has been healthy being tolerable much less this effective.
  19. If this continues with Wimmers, I would also be really interested in what he credits for the turnaround. I saw his stats live at the game today and was absolutely shocked. (In a good way!)
  20. Not dead yet! http://blog.earthlinkbusiness.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/mp1.jpg
  21. I've always been on the Kepler bandwagon and I'm thrilled to see him coming along as well as he is. One concern I have is that this team going forward might have a power problem if bother corner OFs are looking 10ish HR guys. Assuming Mauer continues to play 1B that might mean a team with only 3 guys that can hit 20+ a year. (Plouffe, Sano, Dozier) I love all the speed and defense out there in the OF, but there would be a sacrifice to that as well. Just thinking out loud about that future lineup.
  22. Well, we think of it differently because baseball is the only sport that has a different set of rules for each league. The simple fix is to simply stop having pitchers hit, then this won't seem like a fad anymore.
  23. He's going to get eaten alive by the pitching at the big league level.
