  1. Dig deeper into Blackburns MiLB numbers and you'll see he still didn't strike out anyone, his walk rate wasn't great but better (that will happen when facing AAA players) He ground ball rate wasn't great, the only thing he did better was not give up homers. SSS yes, but the same problems he had in the majors are still happening in the minors. He's just an ungodly hittable pitcher who throws a pitch and crosses his fingers it stays in the park. At this point Liam is a better pitcher cause he had atleast has a future with this club, Blackburn is only around cause the Twins front office is made up of idiots that though giving an ultra hittable pitcher 14 million was a good idea. Liam should be up taking his lumps good or bad to see if he has a future with this club. Figure out if he can hold down a spot or is it one more hole to fill going into 2013.
  2. Even when Blackburn was pitching well he put up some of the most worst peripheral stats I've ever seen. How he pitched to a 4 ERA those first two seasons is a god damn miracle. His walk rate has gone way up for a pitch who lives on contact and his HR rate has doubled. There's plenty of reason why he can't get back to a 4.50 ERA moving forward.
  3. Didn't Levi not participate in Instructional ball cause he was still hurt or something with finishing his degree. Not to make excuses but it's not that easy to jump from college, have all winter off then jump into high-A ball. He's started to hit some, NTM the FSL is a tough hitters league so I'll hold out a bit. I liked the pick for value and need within the organization.
  4. People are just so used to the Twins making the wrong decisions that it doesn't faze anyone any more. Capps/Ramos/draft picks/****ty closer...who ****ing cares anymore?
  5. So keep trotting out Blackburn, the AAAA all-stars and random scrap heap signings instead of the somewhat well reguarded prospect who's MLB ready. Hell and I don't even think much of Hendriks, but I'd rather see him take him lumps then some other **** arms that have no future in this organization. Why the hell would they not call him up and let him take his lumps, this is what dumb franchises do.
  6. When it comes to the Twins and pitching, the last thing they deserve is the benefit of the doubt.
  7. At this point it should be Liam, why keep trotting out Blackburns worthless ass when you have someone who's MLB and deserves a chance to sink or swim in the majors.
  8. I wish nothing but bad things apon Nick ****ing Blackburn.
  9. Well this signing has worked out like gangbusters.
  10. Well they didn't learn it last season and went into this season with the same tiny depth.
  11. It's a pointless battle, Dave cannot and will not blame the Twins for anything. Bad trades, bad signings, bad coaching....doesn't matter.
  12. He's a backend guy, if you really want to nit pick between a 4-5 pitcher go right ahead. He wasn't a one, he was't a two and chances are he wasn't a 3. He was a guy that would get to the majors quickly and contribute. He never was gonna be a great pitcher, but a solid cost controlled arm that wouldn't kill everytime ala pre-Target Field Blackburn.
  13. His velocity is down and it's not like he has his command to fall back on...no thanks. Jesus this is what this franchise has come to, questioning taking the Royals pictching scraps.
  14. What the hell are you talking about? This isn't about 97 mph, it's about taking a low-ceiling pitcher that early in the draft. He was never a #2 or 3, he was a backend guy that would move quickly through the minors. That was it, the injuries and yips sucks but never the less it's part of grading a pick and so far the Wimmers pick has been a massive failure. FYI I was a big Tyrell Jenkins fan coming into the draft but what good does it do to rehash.
  15. Please explain how Smith is to blame for this?
  16. So I'm suppose to show a scouting report that shows Wimmers had a backend ceiling while you provide no link that says otherwise. It pretty much birdwatcher says he's a 2 or 3 even though multiply here have said the same thing of Wimmers. Is this Lev?
  17. WOW...that's such a great analogy Dave, you totally changed my view by using Delmon ****ing Young to show how a worthless player is worth negative value.
  18. So a person maximizing his talents for compensation is greed? We do it everday on a smaller scale but an athlete does it and you wish his career to end. My god man...
  19. Change-up was his best pitch followed by a decent curve (average) Plus command and a fringy at best fastball. Low ceiling but a very good chance of hitting it. Unless he suddenly gained 5-6 mph on his fastball Wimmers never had a chance to be a 2 or even a 3. He was a backend guy who would get to the majors quickly. Nothing wrong with guys like that, but not what I wanted.
  20. Cause it was coming Dave, I didnt think it would be this bad and this fast but I knew the down side on it's way. NTM playing in the AL Central covers alot of things. The poors trades, the poor drafts, the poor signings. They were easy to gloss over when they team was in contention, but sooner of later it was all gonna hit the major league team and f*ck if it didn't hit them hard.
  21. It's a pointless number that Dave Cameron and his merry band of jackasses assign to a win. When I first started ready FG I used it all the time, but as I looked more into it, it's just worthless to even use it in any type of debate.
  22. Well maybe if the made smarter moves we wouldn't have this garbage 90+ loss team to watch, hell everyone should hate everything the Twins do cause that's what has lead to this 100 million dollar mess.
  23. Future 3, maybe 2...are you kidding me. Where have the standards gone for pitchers? Wimmers always had a fingy arsenal of pitches, a has a plus change but that was it. He was a backend starter at best with a low-ceiling but a good probability of hitting it. But this looks like one first round pick that isn't gonna work out.
  24. I love FG, but the money value chart is one of the stupidest things on that site.
  25. Still hate the Casillo sell cause that's the moment you knew Johan was done with Minnesota.
