  1. I think you are thinking BTK, that's no Bueno for sure. Wichita guy here, that was a couple miles from where I lived at the time. BBK just doesn't flow.
  2. No Wallner, specifically with Kiersey for max defense. Bader, Buck and Kiersey. BBK, naw. HBD-maybe. Happy birthday if you get a hit?
  3. I will say I like losing the DH to put this outfield out there. They need a nickname.
  4. Butbutbut they need to be more aggressive on the base paths!
  5. Amazingly got into the 5th with such a low pitch count. He was on the shortest of leashes.
  6. Is he ever going to not lock up in the 5th inning?
  7. Proper leadoff hitter woulda moved the runners over with no outs.
  8. And thus the circle is complete. They were in a pinch and obtained a couple. The entire point of the guys at AAA is that they have control over them and use them when the pinch pinches the outside options. They have already DFA'd 5 guys this year, why are you assuming they won't do it again?
  9. Because the internal options limit them to 40 guys, now they effectively have 42. It's just a numbers game of interchangeable options, not really a baseball decision.
  10. Had Clemens and Bride not been available we would have likely had Alverez and Fitzgerald. Always take the outside disposable option before the internal. They will get a chance in a month or two after Clemens or Bride are long gone and another injury mix happens. I'm the opposite of a logjam guy, for sure, and picking your long term stalwarts correctly is much different from the guys that get you through tough patches. Until Lewis and Castro look full speed Bride and Clemens are more important than McCusker. Lewis looks about 50% and Castro didn't have a rehab. It's a long season.
  11. He can't play the infield. That's pretty much the entire answer here. And the reason they are in that position is mostly because Julien and Miranda and Martin aren't good, Lewis Castro and Lee were hurt etcetcetc. Why they don't have every player on the 40 man beating down the door for playing time is a different discussion, and probably not different than the rest of the league if we are honest. It's not part of McCusker. The outfield has been mostly healthy and the infield has not.
  12. It’s not McCusker they are worried about losing. Do you remember just a week ago when they were grabbing at anyone that could stand in the infield? Those risks haven’t changed. If they get a chance to put someone on the 60 day, then I could see adding him to the 40 man. Keaschall timeframe might work and if Martin reinjured his hammy badly it might work out. The risk of cutting Clemens and Lewis or Castro not being right is not a worth taking a flyer on McCusker yet.
  13. Because it requires a 40 man move. That’s it. It’s May 6th and they already used their early 40 move on Keaschall. One weird injury after an early DFA will have us shopping the waiver wire again. I do like the idea of him as the designated pinch hitter against lefties in the late innings. But it’s not that time of the year yet.
  14. I just don't understand why our catchers are not protecting the throwing hand.
  15. All he needed was the Gleeman bump.
  16. What no Cade Povich trade revisited front page article? Twins Daily is growing up.
  17. With today's news a few observations. Lewis plays 3rd base and DH, no where else. Full stop. Bride will play third against lefties while Lewis DHs and occasionally when Lewis needs an off day. Lee and Castro may get a little run but they are the second base rotation. Brides main role is going to remove late game at bats from Larnach against lefties. That experiment has to stop. Then Kiersey for defense. Hopefully Larnach still gets some early game work against an occasional lefty but he's been horrendous against them. They now can get all right handed batters against lefties with Castro in the outfield. They may continue to start one lefty to maintain some flexibility. Clemens is still here because Gasper and Julien still have options and he can switch "hit". It's too early to cut any depth. I think he's now the 26th man.
  18. In fairness, a barrel is a pretty terrible measuring stick. That bomb Abreu hit off Jax the other day-not a barrel. Obviously. Kiersey still has a role and I think it's related to Larnach hitting against lefties being a failed experiment so far. He should still get the occasional early game at bat but going forward the path is pretty obvious to me. Bride pinch hits, Kiersey runs and plays defense.
  19. We are at the point of the season where options rule. The circumstances that led to Bride and Clemens are still around. If one of the options guys was named Keaschall it might be a different story but for now, the move the keeps everyone around is the move that has to be made.
  20. Nice series but you can't help noticing the speed Boston is able to consistently deploy. Was in and out all weekend but every time I looked there was a fast guy being a problem. Would be a nice element to have in multiple places.
  21. That was the one I was worried about. Would have like to see Columbe there.
