    I'm thinking they would have started this conversation shortly after the injury. Once they knew it was another major rehab everyone knew he had to come off the 40 man somehow. If I'm Matt, I'm probably sticking with the org that knows me for my one last chance. The Twins having pretty good track record with arm health doesn't hurt.

    I'm guessing we won't be seeing Sewald for quite a while. Inflammation is probably only one of his symptoms right now. There has to be something to a guy like Bride, fighting for an actual career, shocking the system a bit. If the DFA guy can hit, why can't we? This is setting up too well, I'm suspicious.

    I been saying. He's just a good ball player. It will be interesting when Lewis comes back but without Keaschall in the mix it seems like he would play second just for the sake of Lewis. He's going to be better that Lewis at either position and Lewis is likely better at third than second. Good problem to have if folks can get healthy.

    This is an important distinction. I don't believe the article is insinuating malfeasance but it very important not to confuse the two. Just like there's no such thing as a tax loophole, it's either fraud or filing, how we want to write the rules is a different question. In this case, the union negotiated this situation and I reckon they aren't terribly unhappy with it. Accruing service time and $4600 a day while waiting for the next place to go play baseball is a horrible way to go through life.
