  1. Shouldn't Buxton be figuring things out a little at the plate?
  2. At the end of the linked story on the first page. The paper was the first to report Harbaugh was going to be the Michigan football coach. However obvious that was to everyone who follows football they did report the news first.(allegedly)
  3. There's nothing to be caught up with. I wondered why an apology thread was necessary. Nothing more and nothing less.
  4. I just don't want to hear 'nobody uses the defensive shift more than Detroit.'
  5. I'll admit it's going to be tough to pull for Gardenhire. Not a persona animosity but the fact he's managing in the AL and a division rival.
  6. Should this team be above .500 on the 8th of September?
  7. I think at one point Gardenhire was a good regular season manager. The problem is the post-season. was so bad and far too often he seemed like a different manager.
  8. Based on what exactly?
  9. The chances probably depend on Pelfrey tomorrow even than they may not bother using the DL. I understand not trading someone not at a high point but I'd listen to offers for Kyle Gibson.
  10. That warrants a credit to Billy Smith thread not an apology to Billy Smith thread.
  11. The 'apology' directly mentions signing Sano like people had criticized Smith. The other international signings like Kepler also weren't with criticism of Smith. Think about the idea of 'apologizing' like anyone wronged Billy Smith.
  12. Rosario in fewer games beats Gordon in DWAR 0.8 to 0.1. The range factor is the same, throwing arms are also similar. It looks like a pretty weak season due to games missed by the better leftfielders and below average play for guys who have played most of the season.
  13. People are seriously apologizing to Billy Smith for a decision that wasn't even criticized at time it took place. To me an apology is reserved to times one is wrong about something or someone. Find me anyone who outright said Smith should not have signed Sano. Some people would have predicted he'd be a bust but that's not the same.
  14. Among other concerns. A lack of a good fifth hitter worries me. Ideally Brian Dozier might be the choice but until Hicks returns he should be hitting lead-off.
  15. I've got a cousin who lives out in Seattle (grew up in Minnesota) and his son is a really good ball player.
  16. Why is Hunter not only in the lineup but hitting 5th?
  17. Is it wrong to suggest moving Buxton down in the lineup? Dozier can hit lead-off and Rosario second until Hicks returns.
  18. Sorry, but I'm not seeing reason for much optimism. Even mediocre to below strikeout pitchers in the majors blow Stewart out of the water with their minor league K/9 numbers. Also doesn't help that opponents are hitting .276 and his WHIP of 1.39 isn't exactly light out.
  19. Slower but a couple of sites that project future stats had Buxton not really clicking offensively until about his third season.
  20. It certainly looks likes Berrios has the feel of someone who can help the Twins.
  21. Money and contract are why Berrios isn't with the team.
  22. Any word on why Perkins wasn't used tonight?
  23. Preference is obviously Twins get second wildcard outright. Second would be winning a one game playoff to make the actual playoffs.
  24. I think there's little instances to introduce new stats to viewers. Like yesterday, Dick mentioned Sano in 43 games had 33 rbi's. Instead he could have said Sano's OPS which combines power numbers and getting on-base is .970.
  25. Unless he's going to retire a Twin than no thanks.
