  1. As long as Buxton isn't another Melvin Upton, Jr than he should help the Twins win ball games.
  2. Two more strikeouts on Sunday. It's not any reason for concern yet but it's a worrisome that a player like Buxton is striking out so often.
  3. Listening to Barreiro and you'd think Mauer was the one who struck out with the bases loaded.
  4. I'm curious to know who from Detroit would have been following Bert Blyleven to even known he made fun of Detroit.
  5. When should we expect all the comedians who made fun of Detroit to apologize.
  6. I realize it's guilt by association but I'm not comfortable cheering for a team with a cheater on it.
  7. If you don't include on-base, and walks than I could see Mauer being passed on after a down 2014. I'm optimistic he's going to be better than last year but pessimistic we'll ever see the old Joe Mauer. .288/.369/.417
  8. Cub fans will survive not having Bryant to start the season. There's going to be critical spots throughout the season. Not having the ability to see into the future, I don't want to project the first twelves games meaning more than twelve games later in the season.
  9. They'll survive the two or three weeks Bryant is in Iowa. Honestly, I'd be mad at my team if they gave up a year of service time for twelve games at the start of the season.
  10. A rushed decision given country acts like the Dixie Chicks but so freaking what? You'd say he was pandering if he came out and said he loves Neil young.
  11. You've got the wrong political party. Democrats wrote the book on the politics of fear.
  12. People are delusional in this thread. There is only one Alan Dershowitz called Ted Cruz the smartest law student he's ever taught.
  13. If John McCain, George W Bush and Mitt Romney could win the nomination than Ronald Reagan would breeze through the primaries. The party icon who wouldn't stand a snowball's chance of being picked by their party is John Kennedy.
  14. Arizona Diamondbacks - 71.5-under Atlanta Braves - 73.5-over Baltimore Orioles - 82.5-over Boston Red Sox - 86.5-under Chicago Cubs - 82.5-over Chicago White Sox - 81.5-under Cincinnati Reds - 77.5-under Cleveland Indians - 84.5-over Colorado Rockies - 71.5-over Detroit Tigers - 84.5-over Houston Astros - 75.5-under Kansas City Royals - 81.5-over Los Angeles Angels - 88.5-under Los Angeles Dodgers - 92.5-over Miami Marlins - 81.5-over Milwaukee Brewers - 78.5-over Minnesota Twins - 71.5-under New York Mets - 81.5-under New York Yankees - 81.5-over Oakland Athletics - 81.5-under Philadelphia Phillies - 68.5-under Pittsburgh Pirates - 84.5-over San Diego Padres - 84.5-under San Francisco Giants - 84.5-over Seattle Mariners - 86.5-over St. Louis Cardinals - 88.5-over Tampa Bay Rays - 78.5-under Texas Rangers - 78.5-under Toronto Blue Jays - 83.5-under Washington Nationals - 93.5-over Tie breaker 1: The two AL WC teams will be: Indians and Mariners Tie breaker 2: The two NL WC teams will be: Pirates and Marlins
  15. You think Prior would have thrown a tantrum and imploded if the same Game Six scenario happened with the Twins?
  16. Team effort until Buxton is ready to take over.
  17. I'm surprised Houston did have interest in a bad on-base hitter with a poor attitude.
  18. What would surprise me is Gardenhire having his choice of jobs. Since I don't see him taking over a team rebuilding since he just went through four 90+ loss seasons in Minnesota. That narrows the opportunities and I question if any team wanting to do something in the playoff is going to hire a guy with such a horrible post-season record. You can only take not on Gardy so far before he gets his fare share of criticism.
  19. Didn't Seattle do something similar with the Sonics name and history? I can't imagine Texas putting up much of a fight over Johnson, Goslin, Rice and other Senators being part of there teams history. Back to the retired numbers. Torii Hunter really shouldn't even be in the conversation. He played had at bats in 11 years with Minnesota, but two of those a combined seven games total. He only reached 550 plate appearance or more six times. His overall numbers aren't great and one or two years shouldn't do much to change that.
  20. I don't think he's ever been great during interviews. Just not a natural in front of the camera.
  21. Sadly, you're probably right. Not sure what's worse the Twins ignoring history or the Nats leeching on to players who have nothing to do with the history of their franchise.
  22. Honor the man to the left of this post in some way before you retire anymore numbers. There is no Twins without the Senators. No Killebrew, Pascual, Allison or Kaat. No 1965 AL Pennant. Just because the teams name changed doesn't mean the franchises history did.
  23. He doesn't live up to the hype due to FSU being on the decline and Mauer not facing tough enough competition at CDH. He continues to strive in baseball at FSU winning the Golden Spikes Award in 2004 and being drafted the same year by Milwaukee Brewers with the 5th pick.
  24. Greinke number two starter because Clayton Kershaw is on the team or actual number two starter?
  25. I think far too many times the Twins fell into the mindset of drafting for need versus drafting the best player available. Of course
