    Burdi can pitch today in the Twins' pen and be better than Burton. He is 21.5. Really high on him. Repeat Twins' draft pick, btw. Righty comparable to Chapman and I think that he has all the tools to have similar career. I will be disappointed if he did not start this season at least at Cedar Rapids if not at Fort Myers and get a ST invite next season. He is ready.

    I still cannot believe that the Twins passed over Alex Jackson to sign Nick Gordon. I don't think that he will be a bust, but he will be the only top 5 draft pick for a while to not make his team's top 5 prospect list or even his team's top 10 prospect list in some lists. It speaks about the strength of the Twins' system, but I think that Jackson would had been in the Twins top 5 prospects. Wishing Nick the best and to prove me wrong

    Re: Burdi. I bet that he would be more effective than Burton in the Twins' pen today. That said he really has to be fast tracked for the Twins to get value. I hope for Fort Myers but would take Cedar Rapids this season. He would gain nothing pitching against kids who now making the transition from metal to wood.

    I think that the Twins have a comparable player already in their system: Engelb Vielma. I'd probably argue that Vielma's 3 good tools (the same with Gordon's) Defense, Arm, Speed are ahead of Gordon's, but he is 2 years older or so. Nobody had Vielma in the top 10 Twins' prospect lists this off-season, but I suspect that many will have Gordon, sight unseen. Hope that he is the next Cal Ripken Jr, but totally disappointed by the pick...

    My top 8 Jackson Aiken Kolek Newcomb Conforto Hoffman Schwarber Nola. Not big on Gordon mainly because of contant and discipline and some vague character issues here and there.

    Re: Span. Fact: Aaron Hicks has a higher OBP and Fielding Percentage than Span and made more out of zone plays in about 3/4 of Span's innings in 2014. Let's bring back Span. And if that does not work out, let's seance Kirby's ghost or something...

    There may be excuses to keep Meyer and May there (service time, whatever,) but having Burton and Guerrier over Pino is inexcusable.

    +1. Deduno has done nothing to prove he deserves a job in the rotation. Averages 5.5 IP/GS, less than 2 Ks per BB, has been regressing (6.75 ERA & .360 OBA the past 7 days, 4.91 ERA & .295 OBA the past 14 days and 4.50 ERA & .252 OBA the past 28.) Add the facts that at 30+ he is not part of the future and he has benefited from a ridiculous HR/FB ratio and I cannot see a way that he is taking a spot away from May. Does he have a role in this team? Sure: Guerrier's...

    That was extra small sample size and really skewed by a single 4 IP start with the E-town Twins: Last season: GCL: 6 G, 3 GS, 16 IP, 9 K/9, 23.2 K% AppL: 1 G, 1 GS, 4 IP, 18 K/9, 53.3 K% This season: ML: 9 G, 9 GS, 43 IP, 6.7 K/9, 18.1 K% Based on the IPs, the difference between GCL and ML is practically insignificant, if you realize that this is 2 levels of competition higher. If he has 15% ish K-rate and is stuck at AA three seasons from now, then maybe can start being concerned that he might be a bullpen arm...

    I think that Kubel is not taking the bat off Pinto's or Willingham's hands. Arcia and Parmelee are his main competitors and I think that at this point he is behind both of them. Potentially he is behind Herrmann as well... When Fuld returns the Santana vs. Kubel debate should begin because if Fuld replaces Santana, there is only Nunez as an infielder on the bench, and the days both him and Escobar start, nobody...

    Because he cannot hit breaking stuff (he is making adjustments this season, let's see what happens, it is encouraging), his defense is iffy, and he is a corner OF type. He only played 11 games at CF the past 2 seasons. That's about as many as Santana these days. Santana is a Utility type player. Good for him to play as the backup CF until Fuld returns.

    Got to love this Santana's BABIP is .570 this season. His BABIP is usually in the .310s or so. Escobar had a .373 BABIP at AAA last season. Methinks that his BABIP is closer to his real than Santana's...

    Replacement level? Jay has 9.6 career WAR in 5 seasons in limited action in some. Had a 3.4 and 2.9 WAR season. That is not replacement level
