  1. His folks could have given him a really wild middle name. Brooks Stagger Lee.
  2. Call me naive. And I get the gambling angle. But tell me. What's going on in the mind of a person threatening a players wife? I knew about it but I didn't think it was right to talk about it.
  3. I noticed you had no comment on a post this weekend vs the Tigers. Prior to last years success, the previous 3 or 4 years they have run out young unproven players to take their lumps and learn. They even extended a player before he reached the majors. So your premise is false. Just because it hasn't worked for the Twins, it has worked for other teams like the Tigers and Astros and Orioles. Paul Skenes was unproven. So was Aaron Judge at one point. Did you see that routine fly ball he missed in the WS? He sucks. The curse part. Well, there might be something to that. Probably more like not great evaluating players on the Twins part. Another thing if I remember correctly, Tony Oliva was not considered a good outfielder when he came up. Yet he turned into one. And when was Harmon EVER considered a good defensive player? Or were you advocating for him to be benched or traded too when you were 8? He was way overhyped. (Sarcasm) Since that is sacrilegious. But that is your take on every single player coming up.
  4. Are AOC and MSM new stats? How and what do they measure? I looked at every Baseball reference and did not see them.
  5. It's still gotta be hard. Finish a game and be told that you're heading back to Minnesota while the team goes to Miami. Yes, they are paid well. Still. Tell me what does Mr. Lewis add? He better be a lot better than he was when he came off his 1st stint on the IL.
  6. There's been quite a few of them as of late. It's bad enough that for the next month it's going to be every player on the 40 man will be on the move to some unknown team in return for an unknown quantity. Oh and Royce coming off his 0-8 rehab assignment will join the Twins in Miami. GO TWINS!
  7. And Stop using Sandy Koufax as a measuring stick as well. Sandy's 61-66 seasons were as good as any. Yes, playing for Brooklyn/LA helped his cause. I think he was 31 when he hung up his spikes. Could he have put together another 3 or 4 seasons of dominance? We'll never know. But all signs pointed to a big yes in that era of the pitcher. Especially when a guy won a game 7 in the WS with a 1 pitch arsenal.
  8. Well, short term, Lee is guy who fills in? Thats the most asinine thing ever written. So Correa is no longer viable at SS, so let's move mr. Slow motion to shortstop and get WORSE until they get a true SS from wherever. But they'll have their 3rd baseman for the next 3 years. Solid thinking. I do agree that Correa is not the SS he once was. Go on the game thread. There are lots of Kool-aid drinkers who still think he's the best SS in the ML.
  9. Why just the Twins? What about the other 28 teams.
  10. I wonder what RpR thinks of the Tigers. A team that took quite a few young unproven players and just let them take their lumps for a few years to turn into a good solid team. They had some real high draft picks to work with, but they were still unproven at the ML level. And Hinch platoons as much or more than Rocco. Torres is a good addition. If they could deal Baez, they would. Mize is a 1/1 who is paying dividends after a lot of injuries and of course, they have the best pitcher in baseball.
  11. Lot of complaints about them playing boring baseball. Bad defense. Station to station base running. Tonight, Festa goes into the 6th. Good defense, base stealing, move em over get em in and still. Against a good ball club
  12. And for the 5th year in and row Tommy Pham will be on the market.
  13. How can better stuff not translate to better pitching? That's makes 0 sense. Unless they're getting too much movement and it turns into a command issue. So no one can hit his stuff but he can't get his stuff over the plate cuz it's too good. So what good is it?
  14. Well, let's start talking about him then. 1 paragraph. That's it?
  15. Kind of reminds me of. Hmmm. Oh I know. Nah. I'll save it. Speaking of Topa.
  16. France has had some key hits during the season. But that last AB and numerous others just like it this year is why I'm not a big fan.
  17. He got the 1st hitter out. Thought he had Buxton rung up. Missed on ball 4 and went 2-1 on Larnach. Unless 4 pitches is adequate to see warning signs. I think he was more rattled by the throwing error. But then again. Just my opinion.
  18. I still believe they can turn it around. And as far as the 3 steps. The salt and pepper part he might do. He did his obligatory dance with his wife and his momma at his wedding but other than that I've never seen him dance. And as far as chopping wood. I'll leave it right there. 😃
  19. Actually he started off as a switch hitter. But around 12 or 13 it was strictly left. He had more power from the right side. I only said that because if he were traded to the Astros I might get to watch Oct baseball. Lol.
  20. Managers could have their players more focused on fundamentals, execution, and giving max effort. Those are things lacking. That's definitely on the manager. Sure he plays no part in 1 2 or 3. But there are NO repercussions for piss poor play or lack of hustle. If fans saw max effort there would be less blowback. Instead it's just the same old song. When was the last time you saw a hit and run? Twins have some speed. Bader Buxton and Castro. How about a bunt in situations late in a game or extra innings when they're playing for 1 run. Those are just a few in game situations that he does control. Unless you're saying, what does he have to work with. He has a top 5 SS and CF. to start with. He's not working with a talent short roster. Unless you think everybody else is just bad.
