  1. Of course, I was kidding. And Joe Nathan no longer plays for us, we can't count the actual use we got out of players, we must only count what we still have.
  2. AJ Pierzynski > Escobar and P Hernandez
  3. It was nice to get an injury update on Bard (bicep tendinitis, sore shoulder), Chargois (strained elbow), and Kepler (elbow issues).
  4. kab, my offer wasn't meant to be serious, so much as that I'm interested in Buerhle or Haren, but I'm unwilling to give up much of value. If you want to stash them on your bench all season, so be it, but make me an offer and maybe we can work something out.
  5. He's probably just making a point, irrespective of the lack of argument. Heaven forbid.
  6. Liriano only looks good through the prism of rate stats. In a fantasy world where you'd get 200 innings out of Liriano, sure you'd roll the dice on him than many of the guys the Twins have; but again that's a fantasy world. When judging Liriano you also have to consider the pitchers who are going to make up the innings he's unable to pitch.
  7. Which ones? The Twins seemed to always exceed what experts expected of them (and their payroll). Did they ever finish with the best record in the AL?
  8. This. It's just more likely that a BABIP diverging from a player's norm has more to do with 'random variation' than it does with an improved(or regressed) hit tool. That's why its important to look at BABIP for any player having a career year or breakout year (or sudden regression).
  9. Change for changes sake isn't a convincing argument to me. I'd either need to be convinced of Gardenhire's failings (rather than the FO's) or that his replacement is somehow discernibly better.
  10. And just screw jim pratt for getting Tavares and Wheeler for Stanton. Jesus.
  11. Yes, you are. I keep targeting middle infield depth, and I keep finding them on your roster. And lately I haven't felt we matched up well. Just quit it. Focus on something else.
  12. While my big offseason deal was BJ Upton for B Phillips (and parts, a prospect my way), I've been waiver-wiring middle infield depth and even trading what might be assets. (Anyone want to over pay for Crawford?). But I've been stubborn with 'tool' and 'pedigree' players that are late to develop, those tend to be outfielders, and starting pitchers. I've got a perpetual DL list/roster of former top notch prospects. Fantasy baseball is tricky business. I'm happy I'm humbled and empowered by the experience.
  13. This is old news. I remember exploring justifications of this being the reason that he couldn't stick at 3rd base--he couldn't hear the freaking short stop. I believe that this information is a fact, but I really can't say with any certainty how it has affect his game.
  14. I like learning neat things. Thanks.
  15. I think the classic setting works just fine. Like the Twins last year, your team just became crippled. I doubt the issue was league wide or from season to season.
  16. Way to turn uncertain quantity/quality into certain quality.
  17. This is the tail on your donkey.
  18. As awful as May's day was he only walked three and didn't give up any homeruns...
  19. Nice to see them not **** that up.
  20. At least Carroll made it a close play.
  21. Hicks can't make mistakes like that. It was Delmonesque
  22. It's weird to feel good about the game when you Kevin Correia going. Weird.
  23. Top notch game. I think some of the older iterations of OOTP are available for free or dirt cheap, if you want to wet your toe. As Levi says the game can be overwhelming, but the depth is unrivaled and worth the investment.
  24. This is the lineup I want, sans Carroll. Plug Plouffe in there and this is something I can watch.
