  1. Are they going to retrogive Johan Santana a Cy Young too?
  2. Joe Benson played for Southern Maryland in the Atlantic League last year. .219 /283/.316/.599 in 96 games
  3. Former Twins great Juan Centeno signs a ML deal with the Red Sox
  4. If Mauer stays healthy/not be traded, he should finish the season 2nd on the all time Twins Games Played list, and also surpass the 1800 Games Played plateau. Also, Mauer should pass Puckett (7831) in Plate Apperances sometime late in the season, it'll be close but Mauer probably wont get to 8000 this season. Mauer will probably get to 1000 strikeouts by the All Star break, Dozier should reach 500 RBI and 600 runs scored this season. If all goes well, Sano (74) should reach 100 HRs this year
  5. Its going to stink when the Wolves (currently on CCO) are in the NBA Finals and the Twins get sidled to some other channel.
  6. Because back in the 2000s CBS Radio (which owns CCO and other "hertiage" radio station around the country) decided they didnt want to pay for baseball anymore. Thats how you got The Cardinals leaving KMOX (but eventually going back)
  7. According to baseball-reference, the current career leader is Alexi Casilla! (87.912)
  8. If the Twins win a title, I bet they hand out rings to Terry Ryan and Billy Smith. So, I think Perk would get one. I think Perkins would be good in the FSN booth for a few series a year.
  9. Joe Mauer's next double will be his 400th in his career.
  10. Fun note: Joe Benson is still playing! 112 games for Sugar Land this year with a slash line of .256/.311/.367/.678
  11. Frankie Rodriguez. He was going to be the biggest pitching star! But he loved giving up runs.
  12. The last Twins pitcher to have 3+ shutouts in a season was the immortal Rich Robertson back in 1996. He posted a 7-17 (5 complete games with 3 shutouts!) record with a 5.12 ERA that season.
  13. 2002. He was 8-16 with 7 HRs, a double, 2 walks, and 3 Ks that year against Reed.
  14. Matt Belisle is one pace to pitch 162 games this year.
  15. Drew Butera resigns with the Royals For a guy who can't hit and is a mediocre defensive catcher, he has sure stuck around. Good for him!
  16. The last time Mauer hit 5+ HRs in a month was Aug 2009 (he hit 8). This has been his biggest HR flurry since Aug 2013 when he hit 3 in 6 days.
  17. The most memorable thing about that jersey is that was the game Butch Husky ran into the Metrodome LF wall on a HR that was hit 5 rows deep (bad quality youtube clip here: https://youtu.be/T_o852Yn6Tc )
  18. Anderson's ERA title...He sat out the last game of the season because he wanted to keep that ERA title after Teddy Higuera gave up a few runs in his last start (both finished at 2.45 ERA but Anderson's was a fraction lower when the number was not rounded) Every once in a while, you'll hear Dan Gladden talk about that and he still gets mad because he felt Anderson put his numbers over giving his team a chance to win.
  19. Exactly. Either have them as 3 game weekend series or be done with them altogether.
  20. If he would of stayed with the Twins and did what he did, he would have been traded for magic beans or let go to free agency because there is no way the Twins could afford him.
  21. https://youtu.be/deJTjqB-qmQ link to Mauch's tirade.
  22. Mike Pelfrey has pitched 91.1 innings this year. He has 45 strikeouts. Thats a 4.4 k/9. FUN
  23. Dave McCarty did not live up to the hype, but did carve out a 11 year career and got a 2004 World Series ring while playing a few games with Boston.
  24. I wonder if any pitcher with appreciable innings pitched finished a season with more walks than strikeouts
