  1. The trading deadline was looked at one trade at a time in this article. But they should be viewed collectively. And collectively, it was a disaster. It hurt the fans and their hopes, it hurt attendance going forward, and it hurt any chance that a free agent might want to come to Minnesota to play.
  2. Grade Inflation. A boring and predictable pick. Although, without new ownership and a new front office, this doesn't matter.
  3. 1. Without an ownership change: 0 percent 2. Without a complete change in management/GM: o percent 3. Without a change in MLB salary cap rules: 0 percent I know in my heart, it will never happen. It really bothers me that my kids will never see the joy of a championship that I got to see. They are well versed in the MN curse, which has only grown stronger over time. But don't get me wrong; it won't be the curse that eliminates the chance of a championship, it will be the Twins constant lack of competence and the league's refusal to adapt to the future.
  4. Go back and watch the end of the 2024 "lowlights". You'll see what a phony leader he was and how his lack of hustle cost the Twins. Some idiots are born with natural talent but many of them don't maximize it. He should be known for his uncanny ability to hit into DP's and his cheating.
  5. The only Twins manager that was close to as bad as Rocco was, was Ray Miller.
  6. When I read the headline for the article, I thought it was a joke.
  7. The fans have one play. That is to boycott so successfully that you keep next year's average attendance to under 2,000 per game. Pohlads will keep continue to slash payroll and pocketing the profits, but MLB will be forced to address the situation. (They will have to address Pittsburgh and others as well) All other paths continue the slow death of the team until they move or become completely irrelevant in the community. To the fans that still want to go: the Pohlads are giving you the finger straight to your face. Do you really want to respond to that by giving them more money?
  8. Hearing the news yesterday was like attending a funeral. It really felt like the death of my favorite team growing up and until Rocco (my favorite team as an adult). You can sense the doom. This site has the most loyal fans there are, AND they are almost universally against this news, this trend, this direction of the team. As many have posted, expect the worst from the Pohlads. They are excellent at letting the fans down. They are going to continue to drag down this team until there is nothing left; no fan base, no chance of state govt support, no local sports coverage (because no one will care). There is no Harry Crump left to save the day.
  9. Very happy to get rid of the cheater. Now, please get rid of the front office and Rocco. Rarely is there a team needing a fresh start, as the much as the Twins do.
  10. "He may be a players manager but he is very close to Ray Miller as the worst manager in twins history" He already passed Miller a while ago. I was in college when we lived through the Ray Miller experience. When he got fired, my roommates and I had a party. It was nice to have our team be able to recognize incompetence and do something about it. Those days are gone. Now, you get the 1-2 punch of front office AND management incompetence with the only real hope of change coming from a potential new owner who knows something about absolute failure and has the brains and will to do something about it.
  11. The problem with doing the right thing and becoming sellers is that the incompetent front office who has bungled so many things will be the ones to do it. Have any confidence? If you do, you have not been paying attention.
  12. He's a cheater and an over-rated player. His big contract, his lower than expected average, etc, his constantly hitting into double plays... A lot to dislike.
  13. It is sort of like when The Onion articles started turning out to be real in many cases.
  14. If you look at Rocco's record, you'll find that "over fifty percent" win percentage is uneven. If you take out the first year (everyone homers every at bat and any manager could have won), he'd be exactly .500. One playoff year since Covid. One season above 3rd place since 2020, in one of baseball's easiest divisions. Trend line not looking good. Paul Molitor got fired after two consecutive second place finishes.
  15. I think it's actually worse than the article described. The organization is constantly giving the fan base the middle finger. For some reason, people don't like that.
  16. Wild guess. Chip Hale
  17. I guess the worst receiver in Twins history. RD. The result of that pitch was most likely a bases clearing double in the 9th to lose the game.
