  1. For today's Affiliate games http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?cid=&lid=&org=142&sc=&sid=milb&t=affiliate&ymd=20140823
  2. I want to see May throw more than low 90's fastballs and strike out somebody
  3. I believe Arcia and in another year, Sano & Rosario were all Appy League stars.
  4. VARGAS !!! I think I am in love
  5. If Pino pitches 6 full innings and allows 1 run and 3 unearned runs, is it a Quality Start ?
  6. an error and a very lucky hit (and Parmalee's lack of speed) and Pino is pitching in bad luck and having to throw too many pitches this inning.
  7. The World Series teams had Kirby. His fire and fun were contagious and was the face of the Twins. The 21st Century Twins have been represented by Mauer, a cool customer at the most intense of times. These players shape our perception of the teams. We, as fans, actually have no idea how badly these Twins want to win. We can only guess.
  8. So, if I understand you right, the Twins need to rely on experience and improved performance from our current roster. I totally, 100% agree with you. I just hope the players know how to get to Target Field. "Practice. Practice. Practice."
  9. If the greatest chef in the world wants to prepare Filet Mignon and is given "Our Family" hot dogs, what does he do ? He does the best he can. Gardy and Andy are the best manager/pitching coach combination since LaRussa and Duncan. I pray every day that they will have the time to turn the Twins around. A few World Series from now all the haters will be ashamed they ever called for new team management. For every specific complaint that can be made about them, I can point out 5 positives... That defense is just as absurd as most criticism. If you have a complaint about Gardy or Andy, please make it specific... don't just point to the won-loss record, which is NOT their fault.
  10. II see Santana or Arcia take a bad rout to catch a hard hit ball and I know I am seeing inexperienced baseball. When outfielders miss the cutoff man I know I am seeing bad baseball. When left fielders blunder around to find the ball in the corner, or right fielders missing the bounce off the wall, I know I am seeing the home field advantage. When I see a throw missed by the third basement that bounces into the dugout I know that someone didn't back up the play. That is bad baseball. When I see fly balls missed in Oakland due to the "high sky" or in the Metrodome I know I am seeing baseball luck. When I see a Dozier to Escobar double play, I KNOW I am seeing good baseball. Just because we are Twins fans doesn't mean that we don't know a good play from a bad one. Having hope that Arcia and Hicks will "get it" doesn't mean that we don't know the difference between good baseball and bad baseball.
  11. I don't understand Ausmus' pitching changes ? They may have rested pitchers, but there is a double header tomorrow. and following a left handed starter with 2 left handed relievers ?? whats up with that ?
  12. I go to sleep at night with visions of Vargas, Sano, Arcia dancing in my lineup. Sano, Vargas, Arcia. Vargas, Sano, Arcia. Sano, Vargas, Arcia. Vargas, Sano, Arcia Sano, Vargas, Arcia. Vargas, Sano, Arcia. Sano, Vargas, Arcia. Vargas, Sano, Arcia Sano, Vargas, Arcia. Vargas, Sano, Arcia. Sano, Vargas, Arcia. Vargas, Sano, Arcia
  13. If you want to follow our farm teams >>>> http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?cid=&lid=&org=142&sc=&sid=milb&t=affiliate&ymd=20140822
  14. It is pretty interesting but nothing new for the typical TD reader. It is a mixed bag of results.
  15. When Hughes pitches, wins are expected and losses are a surprise. That is a good kind of pitcher to have in the rotations.
  16. "Something" doesn't smell right here. There is "something" we don't know. "Something" we don't understand. "Something" is going on that we aren't seeing. We can wonder all day about what that "something" is... we may find out after he is called up. We may not... but "something" is definitely positively going on.
  17. Managers and coaches are always telling their players to "focus", "relax" and "have fun". I think this thread needs to "focus", "relax" and "have fun".
  18. I am a fan. I look for signs of positive improvement in the Twins. Today. Hughes beat Kluber. Our best beat their best. It does not prove anything, but it points to progress. Heck, with a good winning streak, we could still be at or near .500 at seasons end.
  19. You must sit around, thinking of articles to stir the pot. While we are at it... why not trade managers with the Angels ?
  20. no hopes. no expectations. willing to be pleasantly surprised
  21. Vargas is a keeper. I've penciled him in for the next 17 years
  22. No TV. Anybody know how to filter out Dan Gladden ?
  23. Escobar is hitting doubles, which means he is hitting line drives. From fangraphs, Things to remember Line drives go for hits more often than groundballs, and groundballs go for hits more often than flyballs. This means that a pitcher or batter with a specific batted ball profile might be prone to higher or lower BABIPs. http://www.fangraphs.com/library/pitching/babip/
