    I was not a fan of Mahle at all, Nor Fulmer, who at the time the Twins had just pounded. But the FO had put us in the situation of desperately needing. So OK. That was about all that was left! But 4 month flash in the pan Lopez? It didn’t make sense that Baltimore would trade him. They were in contention too. They knew his hot-headed tendencies and did not trust the temporary success, it seems. Hosed again.

    I hope they now shut down all that have any injury at all, get procedures or surgeries et al asap, and figure out a good plan to be healthy and healed for a sustained amount of time. No reason at all for those on the IL to come back in this torched season. None.

    I’d take, at this point, KC winning the series, myself. And 5-10 games under .500 on the season. Inspiration is just not there.

    My favorite version so far for Kirilloff. It has a bit of hopeful Killebrew in there albeit with his nickname.

    Great rookie seasons for Ryan and Duran. Truly impressive. And Waller with a couple of hits. A good 2 days for him overall.

    Battle battle. Its right in front of us. We are still in first place…… Here’s to all of the realists condemned for prognosticating the future and speaking out early and often to try to get the brass to act early and often and change the impending future.

    No other team wanted Dobnak and his bargain long term contract? Lucky for us! How many options does he have left? I guess none of he had to be passed through waivers. It may be a spell if he ever sees the Show as a player again, if ever. He won’t be paid as well as Rusney Castillo by a ton, but mighty handsomely for the minors.

    Totally disagree. This pic does not represent the play well, or a throw that was on line and lower that would not have been in error. But they took the video down of the play now, and edited it out of the summary as it was edited down from 3+ minutes to 1+. They were both there earlier. (Or at least I can’t find it now, but had watched it several times earlier.) Far too many errors are called hits these days, in my opinion. Charity workers for batters and fielders and the pitchers get the fallout of shoddy defense ignored in their line. In fact, I was surprised Gordon didn’t get a gift. It doesn’t matter though. I am sure you have made your decision, anyway, and you have that right.

    I didn’t write the article. But there was a lot of correlation used, and several pretty curious and open minds from medical and sports people involved. It was correlated to the injury type reported, not the new surgery to repair it. I read it years ago. I am not advocating or denying. Sorry I couldn’t find it now for all the know it all folks. Velocity is just a theory, too. I still was impressed and will not pretend to know. It is not simple. It will still be a welcome part of my personal exposure and curiosity. Even in Tralfamadore.

    Gordon is not the man, apparently. A pretty routine short throw was the game. (Plus 0-4 with 3 Ks.) May as well have happened this game. Then our great Correa just couldn’t make the great play and the two unearned runs. Quite a telling sequence. 3/4runs simple? Execution knows no averages. And double header coming up. Bullpen couldn’t even do back to back games! Execution. 3 runs was plenty if plays are executed. 3 run lead going into the bottom of the 7th. I believe averages will show that means wins in more cases than the 4/3 run difference. Muah. Kiss it goodbye. We are actually 6 games back of Cleveland now. They also clinched the season tie break tonight, too. I wouldn’t be surprised if we end up 9-10 games back and 5 games or so under .500 now. Especially with 4 more against Cleveland with the finality setting in and 6 against the White Sox after it has settled. Won’t even be surprised to see them tank against KC, LAA, and Detroit now.

    Turner, Swanson, Bogaerts. Or sign the stigma of the Cheatin' Astros, He didn't get what he wanted last year, and there is a reason. He was not prefered at his asking price over Seger (and he wanted that kind of deal but no takers), Simien, Biaz, and Story. No one wanted him long term. After this decline from 2021, and it was a signifgicantly worse year in all respects, Correa may like the $35 million guarenteed and an opt out after next year instead, and give himself a chance to be the guy instead of a participant. If you get paid $35 million, you need to play to value. He cannot shed his reputation, as is evident on the road.     There are some sports doctors that theroize that the lower mound is a big culprit for creating TJ patients. They injury started in mass since the lowering of the mound from 15" to 10. I haven't really looked ror the articles again, but I remember reading them,

    Rules I think need changed, that are not: Pitchers are still allowed to hit batters flagrantly without penalty. (Not talking about accidental. Like flagrant fouls in the NBA, it is a judgement call and finally stops pitchers from throwing cowardly and purposely at batters, and even if they do it not intentionaly, if it is so wild and out of control it still happened, can or did cause injury, and needs to have a consequence to reign the wildness in) Players can still come off the bench and delay the game with no penalty for any reason and do the strutting comedy. (sure they can get suspensions for basically assualting another player and hitting them et al, but no need for them to all come on the field, ever. There are enough on the field already to do the goofy posturing like grade schoolers). And plate umpires are still calling balls and strikes, some very very poorly (like yesterday). Changes: I think limiting pick-off attempts is giving the runners free reign. That might be fun, but it will spell doom for the Twins, who can't steal anymore, and already hardly can ever throw someone out. But I like the running game and miss it. This should help that happen. I don't mind limiting the shift, and it still allows for 5 in the infield, and on the infield grass. This part of the rule I think is ridiculous: "The team must designate two infielders for each side of second base and they cannot switch (for example, a team can't have a stud defender move back and forth based upon the handedness of the hitter)." I like a pitch clock and especially the batter getting penalized for delay. I am really tired of umpires letting them call time as the pitcher is finally ready. Big deal that they have to wait. What else do they have to do but be ready and wait for the pitch? Bigger bases? OK, but really not needed and frivolous.

    This expectation of Mahle/Maeda/Gray leading the rotatation followed by Ryan is surely a hope that should not be plan A. Ryan is there, but two of the other three are total questions, and Paddack is too. I think Mahle will undergo TOS surgery, and we may not see him at all. If he does come back this year, he will see the same results as the last two starts. Sad, but that is my prediction. I think the trade will prove a total bust and Mahle was damaged as he was acquired. Like Paddack, the FO had decided he was the middle of the road pitcher that had spin rates they liked as is their formula, and did the deal even though he was in question as they did the deal. The desperate position the team was in beause of a lack of supplying quality pitching in the off season even though it was clear that was the most urgent need. Both of Mahle and Paddack. History was known, and desregarded or determined OK for the future, even if they were lost for a year and couldn't help now as was the immediate need. Mahle's case is the most concerning, as he says he feels fine, but cannot perform. To pencil him in at all is nuts. He should only be considered depth at this point, and in any decisions to create a starting staff for 2023. We will prove to be fleeced once again. Just a prediction. I hope they all both become of value, because so far........ total bust, and we needed them now, Madea coming back from TJ..... also in question but more expected.

    Exactly what I always thought he was and will be. I think next year will be better, and more consistent. I think he will find an out pitch. Many fans were/are so desperate for an ace, that whoever seems like the best we have, even if they are really a #3, (like Maeda, and his hot 6 weeks, too), that they want to assign that to our best at the time. Nope. Not me. Aces need no apologists and creative positioning. They slap you in the face with greatness.

    So what if Judge was coming up! Varland struck him out and Judge hit a homer.... off the rookie, too, like 54 other homers off someone. 80 pitches and you bring in Jax to ruin the debut. May as well let him ruin it, or really pitch in the Big Leagues. 80 pitches. Had just given up only his 3rd hit of the game to the lead off batter in the 6th, in the 6th! and followed that up with his 7th K on a swing and a miss - 2 swings and misses, a called strike and a foul. 80 pitches. And you pull him. Still crusing, and you pull him. 80 pitches. Who is afraid? Not the rookie. He is ready. Baldelli is so desperate right now. The desperation is right in front of him. 80 pitches and you pull the new guy, too. Ahead 3-1 in his debut, and cruising..... and you are afraid of Judge, who he has already struck out 149 times this season and once to Varland, and he can only tie the game with homer, a game Varland has basically owned, and sit him down. Damn. He got to watch Jax tank his game. I bet that was a lesson.

    Dodger Stadium is endless and LOUD! I mean, I have never witnessed anything like it at a baseball game. If he is batting, it starts as he walks to the plate, and ebs and flows as the pitch comes..... but never stops and gets super loud. Only the Twins and Astros fans seem to have a selective memory.
