  1. Tyler Duddey. And now a visit to my personal hell. I mean Duffey. One key away. I must have a freudian finger.
  2. If he is human, he is guessing. His best experienced guess.
  3. All other 14 games today and all 15 games daily when he is not behind the plate.
  4. Through 6 1/2, according to MLB pitch f/x, I only see 4. Bottom 3rd, pitch 1 to Giminez, strike that was called a ball / top 5th, pitch 1 to Hernandez, ball that was called a strike / top 6, pitch 3 to Smoak, ball that was called a strike / top 7, pitch 6 to Smoak, strike that was called BALL FOUR. Pretty damn good guessing. Mighty fine. All extremely close, too. And all went against the Jays, excpt the ball four call to Smoak. But let's face it, the umpire was still guessing.
  5. I felt a lot better about it if he was starting the inning......
  6. Molitor just has to press it. It was so obvious. Colon never should have thrown a pitch this inning.
  7. I can't believe you would compare Colon to Greg Maddux.
  8. Count me as one of those. I enjoy an honest take, and not a filtered one. Real emotion. Working for two days on hurricane clean up, nerves fried, and the news comes delegated and with no explanation, by a phone call. And the FO spins it as doing him a favor: Twins General Manager Thad Levine, though, said he and Chief Baseball Officer Derek Falvey were acting in Mientkiewicz’s interest by giving him as much notice as possible that he wouldn’t be back in 2018. “Changes are being made, and we have worked very closely with our senior leadership team and departments to determine the best course of action for the future,” Levine said. “Our hope and goal is to do so in a timely fashion, so that people who are not being retained have 100 percent access to job openings that may occur around the industry.” I find it a bit cowardly and tactless, myself, regardless of whether you like the guy you maybe have never met before.... I find the FO lacking professionalism that is expected of administrators, in this case, just from how they did it and with no explanation, and "we aren't going to give you one".
  9. Survive and advance. But that might be it, for the big man. They are getting tons of contact. Maybe if the Twins get 4 runs or more here..... leave him in.
  10. Mientkiewicz said he asked Steil if the decision was his, or if it came from Falvey or Levine. “He said, ‘We don’t give out that information.’ I said, ‘I’m not just some guy; I go back with this organization 25 years. I deserve an answer,’ ” Mientkiewicz said. “And Steil said, ‘We’re not going to give you one.’ ” Wow. Classy guys, Falvey and Levine.
  11. So any odds on Molitor keeping his job now?
  12. Mientkiewicz’s teams finished in first place in four of his five seasons at the helm. He led the Class A Fort Myers Miracle to first-place finishes and postseason berths in 2013, 2014 and this summer, winning the Florida State League championship in 2014, and his Class AA Chattanooga Lookouts won the Southern League championship 2015. He posted winning records in all five seasons as a manager, and compiled a winning percentage of .563 (385-299) overall. Yup. Get rid of that loser. Who does he think he is?
  13. Damn. Bases loaded with no outs for 2-3-4 batters, and all we get is a sac fly and one run. The table was set!
  14. Those first two pitches to Mauer...... some would call mistakes.
  15. That's what I'm talkin' about! Go Kepler!
  16. Garver one voter from unanimous first place votes. One spoiler.
  17. You can't improve against lefties on the bench. I hope he succeeds. We need him too.
  18. I have no idea what that even means......
  19. Well I don't. Not right then. I want to watch them celebrate, and not have to listen to some blow hard announcer/interviewer ask the same redundant questions that have the same cliche answers. It always looks like the young player is totally uncomfortable, and usually it is all wound up and repeating themselves and isn't enjoying being put on the spot. " Well, I saw the pitch, and I swung at it, and got the barrel of the bat on the ball, and it went out. I was just looking for something to get a good swing on." It is uncomfortable for them, and I feel that. And the announcer is usually lame, and wanting/needing attention, trying so hard to make the question of "tell us what happened" sound different. I feel that too. But maybe I am not the typical fan. But that is what I think. It is a relatively new thing, in the last several years. Putting them on the PA and all. Play the damn Twins song and all sing together. Show the highlights. Dance. Shut the damn PA off. It's not about getting off my lawn, or anything condescending and grumpy. I miss the sounds of baseball, and dislike the ever increasing desire of the admins to shove all that incessant loud volume from the PA at us in the form of advertisements, promotions, etc.
  20. They really need to stop this stuff of interviewing the players on the stadium PA after the game. It really is lame.
  21. Hey..... it was only 0-1. Does that make it OK?
