  1. The only reason you would go forward with Kintzler as your closer, is that you don't think you can be a postseason team. To enter the postseason with Kintzler as your closer would be waving a white flag.
  2. Garver sure is playing a lot of left field. Hard to get better behind the plate from left field. Levi Michael is now playing center field and still in AA. It is amazing he has never been released. Talk about career a minor leaguer. I wonder what the long term plan is..........
  3. AL Central Standings Cleveland 37-32 Twins 35-33 (-1.5) Kansas City 34-36 (-3.5) Detroit 32-37 (-5) Chicago 31-38 (-6) Here comes KC!!!
  4. Since May 7th, Santana's starts were horrible, great, bad, great, very good, horrible, great, very bad, very bad. ERA for June is over 7. That the season's ERA is under 3 is a testament to just how great he started. He seemed to get all Gibson's runs this game.
  5. I don't know if this a rhetorical question or not, but if not, the answer is striking out about 40% of the time for three different AA or AAA teams/organizations in 114 at bats and 30 games and batting .193
  6. No reality check needed for me. I was expecting Hughes, Santiago, and Belisle to be part of the problem, and Perkins will add to it when they obligatorily include him for some horrible innings. I was expecting Gibson to rebound and be better, and the bullpen to be horrible, and still expect Kintzler to totally blow up, especially if he keeps being used in the 9th. I was expecting the young position players to be better, (except ambivalence toward Buxton and his batting). I was expecting Sano to man 3rd adequately, and Berrios to shine. For this team to be around .500 with this pitching that was basically ignored and not addressed by the mostly absent new front office tandem in the off season, I think, it is indicative of how they really are ready now. I despise every year being not the year to try, and folks accepting that is just the way it is and has to be. Watching strange career minor league lifers get the call to pitch is disgusting. Do I have the answers? Probably. But they would need to pay me to get them.
  7. If you aren't trying to win, why even play? May as well just take the season off, eh? All future and no now. The endless concession. Where the unacceptable becomes the normal. Yuk.
  8. First pitch. Base hit. Pressly is back.
  9. Seriously? Keep your politics to yourself. Not here.Site rules, and all. There are places for it, even on this site. This isn't one of them.
  10. No. This is just fine. This is your Minnesota Twins. All future, no now. Turley should get 5 more starts. I am not going to get into a previous off season here.
  11. It is even more demoralizing that the offense has mustered one hit, and seems to have given up, too.
  12. I would have made moves that gave this team more pitching. It really isn't a question of best decision for the day. And not career minor leaguers that can do well in AAA.
  13. It is like they just decide to throw away some of these games. Like they don't even care. Turley. What a joke.
  14. Smart of him to spend the time in college. I hope he finishes in the future. We need smart baseball players.
  15. #37. What ? A pitcher, eh? The 17th most wanted pitcher? Ontario High School. Who knows, eh? So much for the big boom. Oh well. I hope we don't get another opportunity for the 1-1 pick in my lifetime.
  16. No pitcher at #35, with 16 already gone. We need another outfielder.
  17. I am just upset because of what I thought. Sure, I read and watched, and even watched Greene in person because I was very close (8 miles) and could, and this team needs pitching and an ace! .... not another guy that maybe won't stick at a position. I generally dislike High School players in the upper rounds. I just will not put scouts on a pedestal, and feel a lot of people could do the job if given the chance.
  18. Nothing happens.......... until it does. Nobody came back from a 0-3 deficit in the World Series.... forever...... until they did. There was never a draft with these unique opportunities before. It is good fodder for the talking heads, though. They need a lot of time to fill.
  19. Well, among other things, I live out here and went to 3 games at Notre Dame High School. It was a radar gun zoo. The parents of the other teammates hated it as the hoards got there early and took all the seats, and the parents and family and students, etc, got the shaft. They were happy he was shut down. It is a good plan to let the important development be done at a much more advanced watch, don't you think? No one knows the future, agreed, but we all have opinions, and isn't that what the comment section is for? And as for the many years' scouts, they all missed Trout, and many many others. They just get paid to watch. I have never been to impressed in general.
  20. Meanwhile, at Target field.................. the Giant's cast off has imploded again, and our former first rounder is no relief and gives up the next two inherited runs for a 9-2 deficit after 4. Pitching pitching pitching. 12 pitchers gone through 26 picks.
  21. Again, as it was posted earlier, it is reported that was a mistake, and what surprised McKay. Tampa was wanting McKay to be announced as a two way player. He was rightfully annoyed and surprised.
  22. The pitcher with the highest ceiling wasn't even the second choice of this Front Office. Telling.
