Really? All it took was 2 prospects. Not even 3. Or 4. Pretty easy if you are dealing with Derek Falvey, apparently. And that is 2 1/3 years of control And one prospect isn’t even close to helping the team we all care about.

Falvey is a wimp. He gives up the farm for a mediocre Mahle, who was even injured (recovering) when acquired, but blinks with a day to go with the reliever every contender wants. 2 players. Hope and dreams for the MLB stud. Not a rental, but 2 1/3 years of control on top of it. What a joke. What a waste. Keeping his can’t hit can’t field can’t run bases core. I guess it’s the players fault. From last August 17 to now, they really have sucked, minus one 13 game streak. They are tanking again now. But no Duran doesn’t make the team better. Neither do the prospects now, and if the success odds pan out…. they never will.

This would be the 5th loss for Duran. Only 2 blown saves.

Perhaps because he hadn’t pitched but 6 pitches in the previous 4 days, and Duran wanted to get some work done to stay ……. sharp? If he can’t go 2 days in a row, what good is a closer? No reason to walk the 9 batter on 5 pitches, regardless.
