  1. Nuances. How does a MLB outfielder not know the dead ball rule for a ball stuck in the wall, Wallner? After all, it helped the Dodgers win a game 7 because they had a SMART outfielder. I find it hard to believe that Wallner wasn’t watching that game, too.
  2. Expected results mean nothing in this game. Only actual results. And so sick of exit velocity et al. shoved down fans’ throats. Get a hit. Make the throw. Catch the ball. Actual results that can win games.
  3. Height wasn’t challenging to Randy Johnson. It was an advantage. Unfortunately, the only question now is how many games will Ober blow before he is dismissed. Sometimes things are so very clear but apologists just can’t bring themselves to admit it yet, and take action. This would include, in Ober’s case, a self apologist.
  4. I have never seen a batter hit himself in the face with the bat bunting like Lee did. It seemed to only start really hurting when he took a look at the feeble bunt result and just quit after a couple seconds. No effort to force a play at all. Then he was finished with his at bat, conceding the out, and bent over, And he didn’t come out of game, either. Back on the field after the team posted 4 runs. Weird. I guess we will see if any swelling happens in the next couple days. Bunting continues to be a challenge for this team.
  5. It's right up there with the math on total pitches for the last 5 days for Funderburk, Lawyerson, Banda, and Orze (unless they change it now.)
  6. Mick not Abel when stacked on Ober. That’s over 13’2” total of throwing downhill. One would think that would help generate velocity. Speaking of velocity….. Brooks Lee the pinch runner option? Maybe if he pinned his ears down it would help with reducing drag. Wallner challenging the call on that pitch with bases loaded was like watching a little leaguer pretend he was hurt after dropping a routine pop up.
  7. So much for the peddling of the fake info that the strike zone for Altuve and Judge being the same was a major fault of the ABS. WRONG! Now what? Denial is a habit. Next year every pitch. It will just let players decide games, not umpires. That is the human element. The players.
  8. Danny Valencia II. And it cost a number 1 overall draft pick.
  9. They could have used him. Hoffman never played, but I would have preferred Ryan instead of the Met, Molan McLean (5.87 ERA for the WBC). And I don’t understand why DeRosa went with Whitlock in the ninth. Mason had 2 days rest. But seriously….. USA had only 3 hits! And Skubal in uniform in dugout but wouldn’t start! Mason Miller has thrown 272 consecutive pitches (in the 2025 regular season and postseason and the 2026 WBC) without allowing a hit.
  10. Ober, lots of luck to you. You will lose most of your remaining apologists soon. Ryan should have been season opener at least once, if not more, instead of Lopez, but Falvey was in love with his trade and was needing to reinforce his decision to bolster his perception of himself by fans, etc. Just curious Mr. Nelson, what are you enjoying about hitless Buxton’s play in the WBC? I’m enjoying Crow-Amstrong performing like an All-Star and his big clutch hits. I guess the stolen base. That was fun. The RBI was by getting hit, so for me, not so fun but stressful, especially getting hit on the arm.
  11. Aaron was 6'. Puckett is listed as 5'8" and sometimes 5'9". Killebrew said he weighed 180 in 1996 when I spent about a half an hour with him before a presentation at Charlottesville High School in Virginia. He looked great and fit. Not stocky at all in his retirement.
  12. Killebrew was 5' 11". Ranged 185 to 210. He hit a few homers. And Gonzalez is 22 this year. That is young. 24/25 is not young, but prime time, or the beginning of prime time. Writers like to think it is young, just because they haven't made the show yet.
  13. We sure seem to draft fragile bodied players. Over and over. Joining Royce as hurting themselves running to first base. I hope the early sprint in meaningless ST was worth it.
  14. “The tone setting, I think we've done that,” Shelton said. “There's a pretty good feel in our clubhouse.“ Feels like losing badly to me. Maybe they don’t look at the box scores. That pitching depth/pipeline must feel great.
  15. Are they kids? Or mid 20s (some as old as those that are considered under performing vets) that are basically prime age but haven’t been able to perform in the Show yet, only in AAA ball? To me, kids are less than 23.
  16. I understand that is the in vogue way to handle it now. They certainly will not be part of the next contending team if they are traded for hope and dreams that most won’t ever make it to the show. Their value for your method is best now at the trade deadline Funny how Jeffers is being paid less than Caratini, but Jeffers is too expensive but Caratini is not, eh? There is always a surprise team every year.
  17. Sure. Trade the best and keep the mediocre. Always a recipe for getting worse, not better. Every time. Over and over.
  18. What? No calls to trade the whole team from all the blowhard expert arm chair GMs?
  19. Lopez could have sucked this year, anyway. Just as likely as if he would have been great. I mean really. Time to get on with it. Maybe all these pitchers will break out together. Time to findout. One thing is sure. You won't see Duran coming it to save his games.
