    Ryan has been the GM for 15-16 years. Besides the 2002-06 period his teams have been mediocre or worse. In those years they have won one playoff series. I have a real hard time understanding how that record gets you a lifetime job.

    Slugging... Joe finally passed Colabello in RBI totals. It will be interesting to see if Vargas can catch Joe. I'm just causing trouble, saying anything about Joe tends to stir the pot.

    My first thought watching that last night was next year either Gardy or Molitor won't be back. With Gardy seeming to have a lifetime contract that would be Molitor getting the boot. Gardy doesn't like all the shifting he's made that clear.

    OK the loss last night tied us for the 5th pick right now. With a few extra wins we can drop to 8 or 9th. With a few less wins we have a chance to jump as high as 3rd. Does winning extra games mean enough to possibly drop out of the best prospects?

    Vargas plays first, Pinto is the DH and backup catcher and Joe moves to LF. Joe certainly can play out there as well as Willy or Delmon did.

    We are on pace to lose 90+ games for the 4th year in a row. At 14-15 games under .500 we could hardly be called even mediocre which would be by definition a .500 record. This team has a lot of holes to fix and become better at playing baseball just to get back in the mediocre range, imo.

    We should actually only look at guys that can play the outfield at a major league level. We've had enough troglodytes playing out there. Actual guys that can field would make the pitching better as well. Nolasco for Ethier isn't a bad deal. Nolasco at best is mediocre and Ethier at his best is very good. Cost us a few more bucks but the possible upside could likely be worth that.

    Over the last 4 years the Twins are 250-360. It's not hard to see why people have tuned out.
