  1. These posts are directly related. When Gibson has command of his fastball and can locate that on the corners instead of missing, he gets ahead in the count more and uses the breaking stuff a lot more often, which in effect he is usually much more effective.
  2. Agreed! Gibby's problem has been locating that fastball. He falls behind hitters which really limits his usage of the off speed stuff. When he can locate that fastball on the corners and not get behind 2-0 and 2-1 all the time he really flourishes.
  3. Joe's 6th multi-hit game in his last 7.
  4. Why waste using Pressly down 7 to one batter? Let Enns finish it. I'm not liking Molly's pen usage tonight.
  5. I see Enns is in the game. With the day off are we just skipping him in the rotation then with the off day yesterday? I turned the game off before Jackson's ball had landed, so forgive me if they answered the question already
  6. What I don't understand is if you are willing to pull Booze out of the game with nobody on base and 2 outs for Boshers to face the left......then why do you allow Boshers to face a righty after failing to do his job against the lefty? You either have to let Booze finish the inning, or pull Boshers immediately after he walked Bruce, it makes no sense otherwise.
  7. I have always mixed those two up. You would think with the Twins playing them so many times every year I would get it down, but nope. Not yet.
  8. Bert made a good point about Buxton. The old Buxton sits back and waves at that slider. The new Buxton kept his hands back, shortened his swing and put good contact on it. Yes, it was an out, but that's progression as a hitter. On another note, Salazar is filthy tonight.
  9. Colon doesn't have it tonight. It's turning into batting practice
  10. According to MLBTradeRumors here are your pending free agent relievers(as of right now). Just food for thought. 11. Tough one. But...we all knew the bullpen didn't go from liability to strength over night, they were due a for a dud. The bats are hot and we have Santana going tomorrow. Go out and get the win and take the series.
  12. I'm excited to see Enns up here. I want him to succeed that much more being a former Yankee. I feel sorry for Kennys, but at least he got to come say "Hey" to all his buddies for the day.
  13. Found on Reddit, worth listening to https://streamable.com/2j9c6
  14. "He’s opened August with a five-game hitting streak after going 4-for-51 (.078) in July." I mean.....that's almost unbelievable.
  15. When I was younger....we would order loaded bud light limes. Bud light lime with a shot of vodka poured into the top. Those were the days of bad decisions.
  16. IMO batting Mauer after Sano makes zero sense. You want him on base for Sano. My lineup with these starters would be: Buxton Grossman Mauer Sano Rosario Dozier Kepler Castro Polanco
  17. You hit the nail on the head. This discussion shouldn't be about Mauer and Dozier's shortcomings, it should be about the young players on the team. While Mauer and Dozier are not world beaters at the moment they are are both better across the board this season than Kepler, Buxton and Polanco whom I think we all expected to take big steps forward this year. With the continued Mauer/Grossman bashing around here....would it surprise many people to know that they both have higher OPS than Kepler does?
  18. You aren't wrong. The graph is Chacin last night, look at those called strikes off the outside part of the plate. http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/cache/numlocation.php-pitchSel=468504&game=gid_2017_08_01_minmlb_sdnmlb_1&batterX=&innings=yyyyyyyyy&sp_type=1&s_type=&league=mlb&pnf=&zlpo=&cache=1.gif
  19. I guess it's my opinion it's not fair to fire Molitor mid-season based on the pitching talent he has had to work with. Doing it after the season gives a new manager and potentially sweet of coaches a fresh slate to work with.
  20. It's exactly the pitch you want Sano laying off on a 2-2 as well. It should have set up a full count where he was forced to their a strike, but gets gifted a K.
