  1. If we had known coming into this game that Gibson would pitch five innings with two earned runs, I think we would have been pretty happy to hear that. Of course, watching him nibble and lose control is painful. So is giving up a lead.
  2. Damn swinging bunts. At least he's already through 5 2/3.
  3. Molitor's gotta keep close watch on this.
  4. Good contact by Buxton. Keep hitting it like that and good things will happen.
  5. Doesn't matter. Get him up, get him a taste, and let's let the selfish fans (e.g. me) see what can do. Even if he's bad, would he be any more than marginally worse than whoever was next on the retread carousel?
  6. "And now Kyle Gibson's got three runs to work with." - Jack Morris. Let's hope he doesn't work too hard with them.
  7. Not a good result for Escobar, but he made Price throw about a dozen pitches there.
  8. Either that or a checked swing, amirite?
  9. Gimenez is a funny dude. Classic. Also a fan of "I've heard that I've thrown knuckleballs," and "Castro tells me to not shake him off, [but] only throwing a fastball kind of helps me out there." Is this guy doing standup anywhere? I'd probably go.
  10. No, that's an athletic disaster. Wait ...no, it's both.
  11. I... I would buy a ticket to that game.
  12. Except locking up the SEC triple crown and OPSing over 1000 in the tiny sample size of professional ball you're using to judge him with?
  13. The Twins gambled, but it looks like they won. Hopefully Melotakis puts his head down, gets back to work, and takes back one of the 40 man spots that probably should have been vacated before his.
  14. So are the Twins' prospects coming out of the DSL just that much better than their hitting prospects, or is that a low-offense league? Looks like a lot of low OPSes and low ERAs.
  15. Sightings of Breslow, Belisle, and even Blaine Boyer. Will we see Boshers too!? Will I be able to keep my dinner down?
  16. So he's a major league catcher, a shutdown closer, and a power hitting corner outfielder. What can't Giménez do?
  17. I agree with your position generally, but complaining about calling someone "very good" REALLY seems like nitpicking. I read the context, and it didn't seem like it was damning with faint praise. I'm all about defining our terms, but even without context it seems hard to complain about that phrasing. I sort of think that there's too much arguing over semantics on this board as opposed to arguing over substance.
  18. Need some innings from Mejia. Although it's nice to see that it was pretty much only the ****tiest of bullpen arms that were used in tonight's debacle.
