  1. Predicted on Tuesday, fulfilled on Thursday. Thanks alot for making me look good Terry, but let's face it, the joke's on you. Terrible roster management, personnel development along with both piss-poor asset utilization and maximization. Just another in a string of fireable offenses
  2. Rortvedt doesn't even turn 18 until a week from now. Don't know anything about his physical maturity, but it wouldn't really be that surprising if, as a full-time catcher, he didn't debut as a permanent roster inhabitant until he was age 24. Anyone know if he is a multi-sport guy or a baseball specialist? And the history of success for a catcher coming out of Wisconsin prep level play?
  3. Yep. People have a blanket perception of Arkansas, and Fayetteville is geographically, educationally and culturally far removed from much of the rest of the state stereotype.
  4. Perhaps I've missed it... but any reason why La Monte Wade has only played once since last Friday?
  5. Throw in a Doug Bernier breezer for a combo pack?
  6. Last I looked, Chatty won their game, 9-8. And in the midst of a nice Lookout offensive explosion from many, I think Palka deserves a mention for hitting his Southern League-leading 12 HR, doesn't he?
  7. From the category of "What Have You Done For Me Lately": May 2 through June 4 production: Vargas @ AAA: .287/.404/.516/(.920) BB%/K%: 17.4%/18.4% BB/K: 23/25 Park @ MLB: .206/.318/.380/(.698) BB%/K%: 10.3%/30.8% BB/K: 11/32 Regardless of this relative outperformance, and barring injury, I still don't think Vargas will be called up any time soon, probably never.
  8. Good numbers for Palacios in the games both before and after last weekend. Looks like he must have had a case of nervousness knowing you were in attendance?
  9. Logan Schafer? What, Did Terry lose Jordan Schafer's number? The jam in the AAA OF could grow even worse should Buxton/Kepler be sent back down once the 3 DL'd guys are reinstated. Palka appears to be a streak power hitter with a strong penchant for striking out. I'm thinking he's best served by staying put and continuing to get regular ABs in and working to smooth out his plate approach. I'm thinking he'd absolutely be eaten alive against even mediocre MLB pitching at the present time. Curiously, and hopefully another thing to build on, he has a reverse platoon split in AA, really crushing it against LHP and much more pedestrian vs. RHP. More evidence that Palka still has a long way to go on his plate approach... the gap between his production when ahead in the count vs. behind the count is as wide as the Grand Canyon (about the same PAs): Ahead in Count: .356/.525/.576/(1.101) Behind in Count: .156/.156/.236/(.391)
  10. Has the real Jermaine Palacios finally shown up? First 34 games/134 PA: .174/.241/.190/(.431) wRC+ 35 XBH 2 Took 2 days off Last 9 games/40 PA: .314/.359/.543/(.902) wRC+ 161 XBH 5 Any eyewitness reports?
  11. Add in Centeno's recent increased presence.... therefore... Terry Ryan = Scrap Bin Recycle King*** *** Genius Level
  12. Yep. The Trib boys (especially Reusse) pulled a classic SI Jinx- in reverse- on Sunday (and before). Sano has been getting better and better as the month has progressed, even as the attacks and demands for demotion to AAA continued against him. (Of course, Reusse will probably end up taking credit for Sano's recent power outburst should it continue much longer- Sano has a chance today to match the Twins record of 5 for most consecutive games hitting a home run- Sano's OPS since May11 is 1.045 and his wRC+ is 176)
  13. Any thoughts on where Ramirez currently lies on the upcoming midseason Twins prospect list...? And when he might crack the Top 20.. Top 10?
  14. Finally, your true identity has been revealed?
  15. I didn't know you knew Japanese, too. I've often thought of turning that... but... n(ot)yet.
  16. You might, if Bartman shows up for a playoff game.
  17. Speaking of an absurd SSS... Buxton's updated numbers for the month of May- since he "flipped the switch"- .387/.446/.720/(1.166) In 75 ABs he has 6 HR and 12 XBH. His K% for the month has improved to around 18%, which is right around his historical MiLB norm. His slash for the entire AAA season would make him the hands-down League MVP- without any consideration whatsoever for his CF defensive prowess- Make a quick check at the link at Fangraphs to confirm the IL hitters leaderboard- http://www.fangraphs.com/minorleaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=2&qual=100&type=1&season=2016&team=0&players=0 I'm his biggest backer, but I wanted him down at AAA to start the season... and I agree with those that note he isn't going to learn a major league curveball dominating against guys that can't throw one of those. How to get from Point A (AAA) to Point B- so that Point B (the Twins starting lineup) is his final destination, once and for all? Hmmmm.....
