  1. If you check out Lirianos last 77 games (70 starts) which includes his entire terrible 2010 season he has put up the following numbers: 4.38 ERA 8.8 k/9 4.0 bb/9 1.368 WHIP Let's stop pretending like these last 9 starts or whatever are the only time he has looked decent lately. We should offer a contract based off those numbers plus a little extra for upside, thus the 2 years 16-18 million.
  2. His first date with his wife. DUH!
  3. Speaking of Tillman, he is the kind of guy I wouldn't mind trying to trade for (nothing of substantial value). To bad they don't need "proven all star closer" help. I think Tillman eventually becomes a solid pitcher, and I think a change of scenery out of the AL east would be nice for him.
  4. Yes* *Assuming they can't get him to sign a 2 year 16-18 mil deal (w 11 mil team option for 3rd year) prior to the deadline.
  5. There is zero reason why this team can't be competitive in 2014 (Willingham's final year), and there is a decent chance we can be competitive in 2013 if Ryan keeps up the good work. They should have 25-30 mil to spend next off-season (even more if they trade Span) and quite a bit more when Morneau's money comes off the book prior to 2014. I'd be pretty dissapointed if we don't win the division in 2014. In addition Willingham has already stated he likes Minnesota and could see himself with the team even after his contract ends. (per mlbtraderumors)
  6. The Twins aren't getting anything close to d'Arnuad back in a trade...There is no rush, I'd prefer they wait until Hamels signs his extension and Greinke continues to struggle, at that point Liriano is the best arm available (unless someone wants to over pay for Garza)
  7. Seems reasonable to me, also its not exactly like he is completely below his level at Beloit currently.
  8. It was reported somewhere actually, the debate on BYTO was "is this enough?" and the consensus was a resounding no unless they included billingsley as well. Or maybe it was Kemp+Kershaw+Billingsley for Santana and everyone wanted Loney as well? Either way, I'm still glad we got 1.5 seasons of Jon Rauch and 1 season of JJ hardy instead!
  9. Chen is off the board now folks, traded him for a 2nd round MLB pick. Nice to finally get rid of him. Looks like Harvey gets his first start this week, he is the first of a few young pitchers over the next 12 months that will make or break my team moving forward. Also in that other dynasty league I am in I was basically a .500 team (2 games out of playoffs) and found I was in a sellers market. Was able to unload some of my high salary players (Pujjols 52 salary next year-wasn't going to keep, Kershaw-42 next year, could have kept but not a great deal, Cuddyer-Loses 2B next year and Napoli 28 salary next year-too high to keep) and was able to get the following players back: Wil Myers, Anthony Rendon, Matt Harvey, Jamie Garcia at $10, Liriano at $10, Willingham at $4, Santiago Casilla at $1 (all four of which are easy keepers IMO) I should be able to buy back one of Pujols or Kershaw in the auction draft next year anyways, along with filling a bunch more holes, I think its a decent strategy to be honest. Thoughts?
  10. Kemp+Kershaw+Loney
  11. Harrison goes another day without an Error! Of course the game was rained out...but still! A Sano 0 for 3 with a walk. No strike outs. Liddle two hits. SS named Stephen Wickens is hitting well after crushing Rookie ball...don't know much about him though. A+ Santana with a hit Benson with a hit Tosoni with 2 hits and a HR AA Hicks 1 for 4 Arcia 0 for 4 2 k's Hermansen got the loss but pitched ok... 6 IP 3 ER AAA Parmelee had 2 hits
  12. What sides? I haven't heard one single person state that Diamond is going to maintain a sub 3.00 ERA long term, most people seem to agree that he could be a nice back end type guy or potentially a nice #3 if his ground ball rate stays up and his walk rate stays down. The other side seems to do the whole "oh another non hard thrower on the TWins staff, he will be just like Blackburn in a few years blah blah blah"
  13. Where do you think Sano ultimately ends up position wise?
  14. Wow, this looks amazing. Looking forward to seeing it in NYC tomorrow!
  15. Blackburn with a nice game. AAA lineup still is awful looking. Hicks, Arcia with 1 hit each already. Hermannananannanananannannnnnn has 2 hits. Benson 3 hits. Ortiz 2 hits. Sano 2 hits, 1 2B Kepler a HR away from the cycle. Harrison 1 hits and zero errors!
  16. easing him into it would be my guess, who knows how many innings he has thrown this year thus far.

  18. Angels don't have the best farm system around but a few names do interest me: Kaleb Cowart 3B Jean Segura SS/2B Garrett Richards could probably be had to, but he doesn't excite me to much, just looks like another #4/#5 guy potentially.
  19. I more concerned about the Liriano we have seen lately after his demotion to the pen. Last 9 starts: 57.1 IP 67k 25 BB (Would be nice to get this a bit lower) 34 H 2.83 ERA That is not a fluke! The guy has potential to be great in this league!
  20. Wow, I really hope this user is a troll (albeit a rather terrible one) Just because you have $1 million to spend doesn't mean you should always spend it or overspend on players who don't deserve it, its not like that money will suddenly vanish from thin air within the Twins organization. That's like saying: Hey the Twins payroll budget had an extra 2 million to spend, maybe we should have given Rodney 2.7 million this off-season instead of 700,000, I mean the money was there right? As far as the draft goes its impossible to grade now or anytime in 2012. Around a year from now you can start making a few preliminary grades but even that is rushing to judgement. From first glance I like what the Twins did, obviously it would be nice if we could have drafted 10 pitchers that throw 100 MPH, but we def got some nice high upside guys. I am curious to see just how many of these hard throwing college relievers we can turn into starters, if we can turn one of them into a starter it would be a huge win.
  21. Definately 2009, the same year I wrote the post guranteeing the Twins would make the playoffs when they were 3 games out with 4 to play. Man, game 163 was epic , never will forget that night.
  22. Highly, Highly doubtful.
