  1. Another day, another meltdown by the Bullpen That Ryan Built.
  2. I just hope he brought an extra pair of depends with him
  3. After tonight's game, with buxton having some real nicely hit balls and defense that is prob second to none... He should be playing nearly every game from here on out. Hunter, maybe once in a while for Rosario? Or if Plouffe/Mauer need a day off? Hopefully Hunter can also get a couple clutch PH for us down the stretch as well
  4. I wouldn't resign him to be in the pen. I would just stick him there now, because he isn't good in the rotation and can cause less damage in the pen.
  5. Man, what a huge win! Buxton, obviously a stud on D but had some really nice at bats tonight as well, should have had two doubles. Hopefully this is just a sign of more to come.
  6. As a Nebraska fan, that ALMOSt makes up for the way the huskers lost today on a freaking Hail Mary.
  7. Buxton! You sexy son of a bitch!!!!
  8. I know YOU are joking but others aren't and it really doesn't make any sense. Hicks issue was never his defense, he is taking good at bats, something hunter has nothing to do with. If anything he is taking a cue from mauer who has patience instead of hunter who pops out on the first pitch 40% of the time
  9. Per Aaron Gleeman: Least valuable American League outfielders according to @baseball_ref WAR: -1.5 - Torii Hunter
  10. Awesome, great company, greater guys/team.
  11. At this point of the season, putting arbitrary numbers on "wins needed" is kind of a pointless endeavor. They need to find a way to gain 1.5 games on the Rangers (without the Angels catching up). Hopefully the Angels hold on tonight which sort of creates "no harm no foul" from tonight's debacle against the Astros. Every game is important from here on out. They need to find a way to pass or tie the Rangers. That is the only goal as of now.
  12. Ryan said as of 3 days ago that at no time this season did he consider calling Berrios up. I am still waiting for someone to defend that. To be that closed minded because it doesn't jive with your original plan on opening day is simply maddening.
  13. He said was solid for awhile this year which was great, however, as it has been for quite some times with the Twins, they refuse to cut bait, or wait way too long before they take someone out of a key role when it deals with a veteran. I still maintain pelf could be solid in the pen, but the starting pitcher ship for 2025 sailed long ago IMO (way before the trade deadline even) This really goes back to the may decision, may should have kept his spot and pelf should have went to the pen, if not immediately then shortly there after.
  14. solid band. I like your style.
  15. Hey Mr. You should name that dog ****head!
  16. This debacle should ultimately seal his fate. Call up ANYONE besides him at this point, maybe he can be decent in the pen the last couple weeks.
  17. Pelfrey should never pitch for this team again
  18. disappointing, I remember a few years ago when there was a lot of hope for him
  19. The only AL two bullpens that are worse (IMO) then the Twins this year are the Tigers and Mariners....good teams, with good hitting and good SP whose bullpens literally SANK them both. Now, the Twins haven't been AS bad (Perkins is a big reason why), but the Tigers and Mariners also have something in common... It really shouldn't be this hard to build a halfway decent bullpen. Especially when you have the money and farm system (trade or promotion) that the Twins have.
  20. Fun fact about Houston: Their drinking water has literally been full of Dallas Poop. http://swamplot.com/yes-youve-been-sipping-what-dallas-has-been-flushing/2014-05-14/
  21. I'd rather move Sano up to third(more at bats for your best hitter) and move Dozier to 4th. Hicks Mauer Sano Dozier Rosario Plouffe
  22. Clippard? Hawkins? Papelbon? K-Rod? That dude from the Padres who's name I am spacing on. There were plenty of good RP traded (for not much in return), and there were plenty more available on the market.
  23. It isn't a big deal if you have a guy or two in the pen with 5 k/9 numbers, it's a really big deal when your entire bullpen sans a guy or two is entirely composed of those types. The Twins have some of the worst inherited runners scoring % in the game, the only way to ensure that runners don't score is by striking out the guy at the dish. I mean, I guess Fien hasn't been THAT bad this year, but he shouldn't be the guy we are turning too in a one run game in the 7th.
  24. Houston's offense is very feast of famine, hopefully it's the latter tonight and Pelfrey can get 7 IP with 3 R or less. Ideally the Twins win by about 7 runs as well, so they can "save" May and Jepsen as much as possible.
  25. I hope this isn't the "norm" moving forward, but Buxton has struggled, prob isn't the worst idea giving him a night off. Chances are he will PR or be a D replacement later in the game anyways. Buxton needs to be playing in the majority of the games down the stretch, unless Hunter suddenly catches fire and "earns" it.
