  1. there is polished and there is "hey maybe don't swing at the first pitch out of the zone when the pitcher just walked the bases loaded more or less"
  2. the negative side of having hunter as a leader "pitch selection? Lol, just swing!"
  3. Awful at bat by Rosario. What are you doing swinging at a first pitch ball when the two guys before you just walked?
  4. Yeah it really doesn't matter too much, all 3 are natural CF.
  5. I liked Gibson a lot better when he didn't pitch like **** He seems to give up more hard hit XBH when he is up 0-2 1-2 then anyone on the staff
  6. Back spasms, not good. If only we had a young fireballer in AAA who could maybe come in and dominate....
  7. I think he ends up the starting DH or starting RF for the Twins opening day next year. I have a feeling that Buxton will start the season in AAA (unless he suddenly turns it on in Sept, or has a lights out spring training) Buxton looks like he could use a little more seasoning. If that happens, Arcia is prob the every day guy in RF when the season starts, Hicks in CF and Rosario in LF. Or if the Twins trade Plouffe, which I think is 75% likely, it suddenly opens up the DH spot for Vargas/Arcia to compete over.
  8. Hicks is eligible to come off the DL today, but for some reason (gotta be conservative!), they are having him play another AAA rehab game....after going 4-4 last night with a HR. Anyways, the good news is he will be up Friday, and the Rosario, Buxton, Hicks OF trio hopefully will stick for the rest of the season.
  9. I'm guessing July: Hughes Santana Nolasco Gibson Milone Duffey May Pelfrey (Fresh off a 1 year, 7 mil deal) Will all be ahead of him on the Terry Ryan Pecking order out of spring training.
  10. The Twins didn't develop Santana, they got him in the rule 5 draft and caught lightning in a bottle. They traded for Liriano. Garza is the only one. Everyone else turned out to be somewhere between: a bust and "meh" (Kyle Loshe, Nick Blackburn, etc)
  11. Shasta McNasty
  12. I wouldn't swap Hunter and Rosario against LHP regularly. Rosario had two nice hits against one of the best LHP in the game the night before. His .683 OPS against LHP isn't great, but it's likely better than what Hunter will produce down the stretch, and that isn't even getting into how Rosario is vastly superior in the field, arm, etc.
  13. He was actually quoted as saying at no point did he ever consider calling up Berrios this year, not one point. That reeks of cheapness and service time manipulation, or at the very least the stubbornness not to change. People say "well they called up Sano and Buxton!" That is because they literally had no other option, hell they were running Nunez and Escobar (before he started hitting well) at DH at that point, it took a couple weeks of that before they called up Sano. Buxton was only called up due to Hicks being terrible, and then Hicks getting injured. That wasn't "aggressive" by TR, it was the only move left. See you next June, Jose!
  14. Everybody gets a louder cheer than Mauer at TF. Because most of the fans are rubes who read the daily fishwraps where all they do is rip Mauer and his contract.
  15. Attendance of Twins home games: Game 2 2015: 21,000 2014: 23,000 Game 3 2015: 17,000 2014: 21,000 Game 4 2015: 21,000 2014: 21,000 Game 5 2015: 24,000 2014: 24,000 Game 6 2015: 18,000 2014: 24,000 Game 7: 2015: 18,000 2014: 21,000 Game 8: 2015: 18,000 2014: 22,000 Game 9 2015: 19,000 2014: 21,000 It continues like that until the Twins were in first place and were winning a lot of games. The reality is, Hunter didn't increase ticket sales at all. If that was the "goal" of bringing him in, it failed, especially in the early season, if they brought him in to be an everyday OF, it failed, because he has fallen off a cliff and been replacement level or worse overall (Worst player in baseball since July 1st) Again it sucks to see it end like this, but the signing never should have been done in the first place, there were tons of better options that would have better served the Twins, options that would probably have them up a game or two on Texas at this point instead of down a game.
  16. I know plenty of people who live near or around Minnesota, I did grow up in the Midwest after all. Ticket sales didn't increase one iota until the twins actually started winning a bunch of games. Signing Hunter doesn't move tickets, winning games does. It's really not a difficult formula. Calling up Sano and Buxton moves tickets. Hunter? Nah, it's just a nice story for the writers covering the team and gives people a nostalgic feeling when they watch the twins play.
  17. Because they got back a pretty solid SP prospect in return
