The notion that garza was "uncoachable" is a little absurd IMO.

Mariners win! Nuno pitched a gem somehow

What about game 163? Which had about 5x as much drama as this game (not putting down this game at all!) or game 6/7 in 91 which each had like 20x the drama?

Stars of the night: First Star: Sano- Game Winning PH HR. Enough said Second Star: Boyer- 5 outs, two of them in insanely high pressure spots. Dude is looking like "good Boyer" again the last week. Hope he keeps it up. Third star: Suzuki- can't throw out a guy to save his life, but he stood tall when Boyer hung him out to dry and broke up the no hitter/shut out with a bomb. honorable mention: pelf: 1 ER in 5.1 IP? Not great, but workable!

Wow. Season saving win no doubt! Hopefully the Mariners can hang onto the 6 run lead and take care of biz (no sure thing with that pen)

Lol that is a great way to end it

I used to dislike him a lot, but over the past few years I don't mind him as much, not having that jackass tim mcgarver next to him helps his case a lot. He and Aikman make a pretty good duo for NFL as long as the Packers or cowboys aren't playing.

I will be more than pleased if May can duplicate Garzas results. (Sans this year of course!)

That really wasn't even a borderline call TBH

Joe takes a lot of flack, but his "we will see you tomorrow night" homage to his dad was pretty classy and awesome IMO

years later his son said something almost as poetic "That is absolutely disgusting! I'm sorry you all had to witness that" - buck on randy moss

I don't want to quibble, but that play he made could have ended our starting catchers season (sounds like he will be ok fortunately) Good result, terrible execution.

Their magic number of 13 would make that salt go away rather quickly

Ball player Peletero part 2 is gonna be a great movie.

To be fair, that was definitely a strike. But the royals can deal with a bad break or two

    I don't believe what I just saw!

Twins should take notes: Good defense and good pitching is a good thing!
  22. DaveW
Gotta give Boyer some big time credit there. Other then his Brain fart on the throw to home, he came up aces.

    So uh...Jepsen time anytime soon?

On a lighter note, the Twins might be the first team to win a World Series with two starters hitting below .200 in Herrmann and Buxton!
