  1. Hopefully Buxton can build on his big game the other day.
  2. Veterans like Santana who crowd the plate like that will sometimes get that call. It was a bad call, but I have seen a lot worse.
  3. Lindor without a doubt, dude has 4.3 WAR in slightly more than half a season....at age 21!!!! Stud Defensively, has 25-30 HR type power eventually. 25 SB etc
  4. Yes, Bert, he stole because of Gibson
  5. Have had a gut feeling all year that if the twins made the playoffs Mauer would catch fire.
  6. Glad Oakland is tossing out Barry Zito tonight...
  7. Honestly, Williams and his insanely bizzarre bunting and bullpen management definitely were worth 3 losses, probably more.
  8. Twins aren't "toast" if they lose one game. However it makes their margin for error razor thin. Sweep would be very awesome. If Gibson can go 7-8 IP and get us a win, I will never say anything bad about him ever again.
  9. I did not realize that. Since that is the case, I would start putting in Hermann as a D (arm) replacement in the 9th inning of close games.
  10. Pelfrey (On a minor league deal) Nolasco those will be the two
  11. Berrios in AAA is fine, if you are going to refuse to bring him up during Sept, you might as well keep him down another month or two to start the season to save the money. Duffey- Assuming he doesn't fall apart the rest of this season, gets injured or just has an absolutely dreadfull ST (Like 10+ ERA dreadfull) there is zero reason why he shouldn't be in the opening day rotation. If the Twins make the playoffs he is arguably our best playoff SP.
  12. Agreed, and then find a way to package some of the cost affordable mid rotation guys (Gibson, Milone) and some prospects to bring in an ace type to lead the rotation.
  13. For years we have been praying for a guy who can strike out close to a guy an inning in the starting rotation, now we finally have one, and we want to ship him down to the minors because he has options remaining? I like May, but to say he is better than Duffey is odd to me, May's career minor league ERA 3.90, May's career Major League ERA: 5.16 I know there is more to the story, and I would like May in the rotation, but not at the expense of Duffey who has done nothing short of pitched amazing down the stretch for this team.
  14. Terry Ryan: "Well Torii we'd love to bring you back on a two year deal, but you are coming off a combined 0.9 WAR in your last two seasons, we'd be more then happy to bring you back on a ST invite and if you make the roster we will give you one year/5 mil guaranteed," Hunters agent: "Have you not seen this article? Hunter performed at an MVP level last year, we need 2 years, 22 mil" Ryan: "You make a good point, deal!"
  15. I'm sorry, but I don't understand this Duffey as the AAA/6th starter stuff that is floating around. Since his first start: 8 starts Twins are 7-1 2.17 ERA .639 OPS against 46 k in 49 inning pitched. Duffey is likely the Twins best pitcher the last couple months, he should be penciled into the rotation in 2016. I like May, but there is no reason why Duffey should be taken out of the rotation in favor of May at this point. I'd prefer they trade one of Gibson/Nolasco/Milone to open up spots for guys like May and Berrios earlier, but this "Duffey as a depth guy" really leaves me perplexed.
  16. Yeah, not a lot of guys are really due for regression, maybe Escobar? which is key. Hicks, Rosario, Buxton, Sano, May, Berrios, Duffey, Santana, Hughes should contribute more next year due to expierence and/or playing time. It has the makings of a 90-92 win team, especially if they can fix catching and the bullpen a bit.
  17. I nominate Dozier, not only is he a talent on the field, plays every day, but he has some wicked awesome dance moves as well.
  18. I'd argue that the 2015 Tigers suffered a dissapointing season because they had the worlds worst bullpen, the rotation was garbage that managed to let their ACE in Scherzer goto the NL (Oh and injuries to Verlander and Miggy didn't help at all) Not a lack of leadership IMO.
  19. Hunter is a TERRIBLE option as a 4th OF, your 4th OF needs to play every OF position, Hunter can barely play RF any more. He is OK as a 5th OF/25th man on the bench option. But when you have guys like Arcia, Vargas and Pinto who are all out of options, you are better off going with one of them since they will give you at least as much with the bat as Hunter likely will. There just isn't any room for Hunter on the roster next year, unless they decide to jettison Vargas,Arcia etc. which would be a huge mistake.
