  1. I have friends and former business partners etc in a couple front offices.
  2. Yeah, overall I agree with this. I'd push hard for Adams, I wish the Yankees were a little cash strapped so the Twins could cost in a few bucks as well. Not sure what else they could give up to sweeten the deal to be honest, Adams I would be happy with. If it didn't involve him: I'd want at least 3-4 high upside "lottery ticket" types.
  3. You can trade minor league players on the DL Abreau has significantly more upside then Ynoa and a better chance to reach it. They likely would include some position players as well in the package, but Twins are looking for pitching, pitching, pitching. I think it's more about the fact that it's a buyers market for SP. Santana having a bad month doesn't help things at all.
  4. To be clear, the Twins would get multiple pieces. Adams isn't off the table completely, but unlikely. No way are the Yankees or any team going to give up Sheffield for Santana.
  5. Source: Yankees are pursuing Santana. Like that he is around for next year at a reasonable rate as well. Willing to give up "fair" value. Torress, Fraizer, Sheffield and Mateo all not in play. Adams likely not in play either, Twins would have to figure out a way to sweeten the pot quite a bit. Names being mentioned: Tate, Abreu, Acevedo. Yankees also seem interested in Escobar, but hearing the Twins have no desire to move him, unless they are "blown away"
  6. What have they done in any meaningful way to improve any of the teams that will take the field over the next 4 years? 26 years and counting since they sniffed a World Series berth, the org is still 80% the old regime, and we still have the same terrible president of the team (DSP) and the same terrible ownership family (Pohlads)
  7. Has the front office improved the 2017 team or 2018-2022 teams in any meaningful way this year beyond signing Castro? (Who is a below average overall catcher anyways)
  8. Bahahahahahahahahahaha Comedy gold.
  9. Bc he is only around for one more year and is on the downward plane of his career most likely. He can be used to trade for multiple pitching prospects ideally.
  10. Yes. They clearly have no designs to actually bring in a major league caliber rotation for 2018, so might as well punt for 2019. We have waited 26 years to sniff the world series, what's another year after all?
  11. The pitching across the board is still a disaster. Other than Berrios and Santana, who can we exactly count on in the rotation moving fwd? Bullpen: we have zero shut down guys, a decent closer and a couple decent arms. Long ways to go. Depth in the minors at SP isn't promising either imo. Bats and defense are fine and encouraging. Unfortunately pitching is prob the best important part of the game. So yes, they are better than last year (which was the worst year in their history) but still, can't be ok with such terrible pitching.
  12. You can't rountinely blow big leads in the last 3 innings of ball games. This team is cooked. Especially now that Berrios and Santana aren't pitching lights out
  13. It's not just bc they lost three against LAD They have been skidding for a while, The league has caught up to berrios and Santana has turned back into a (very good) #3 Without those guys pitching lights out the rotation is doomed for 17
  14. Good trade. JRM is nothing but AAA filler, getting any live arm is a good trade, especially one that has shown some nice success. Arizona really loves taking our poor catchers off our hands!
  15. Is it to early to say the Yankees won the Murphy Hicks trade?
  16. Yeah I'd be dealing The following for sure: Santana Dozier Garcia Kintzler Castro Grossman Santiago Also would look into dealing Rosario and Polanco as well.
  17. This is my first
  18. It was a fun few months, time to sell the few sellable assets we have. Falvey has failed us in his first season, this rotation and bullpen are embarrassing. Hopefully can get some arms for the future.
  19. I'd trade a lot of former 1st or 2nd round picks for Garcia
  20. It's a good trade. Garcia is a solid pitcher who can be counted on. The Twins 3/4/5 situation has been a disaster all season long. Sucks giving up a young pitcher with promise, but it's not like the Twins have been able to develop any young throwers anyways over the last 10 years (sans Berrios)
  21. Good trade. They desperately needed a legit arm, and Garcia is that. Solid #4 type.
  22. Breslow Boshers and pressly all should but cut
  23. They should cut half of these bums: Breslow, Boshers, Presly. Unreal
  24. Falvey is a joke so far, this bullpen is awful. Molitor is a terrible manager as well, this game was typical Molly. Can't wait for the Dodgers to sweep us so they can trade dozier and Santana for poor returns. Sometimes hiring the cheapest GM isn't the best idea.....
