Rangers, classy, lol. Was it classy that Dyson went over and talked smack to Tulo after the pop up and gave him a pat on the ass? Was it classy that he was whining about it after the game? They will hit him in spring training and that will be that. Bautista wasn't trying to irritate the Rangers, he was pumped up for what was one of the biggest home runs in baseball history. (Top 50 for sure)

Hunter would have flipped the bat so high it would have ended up in the 2nd deck. And Bautista freaking MURDERED that ball.

On Sportscenter they put it best "he didn't try to get overly cute" and just relied more heavily on his fastball. Dude is elite, there is no doubt about it. You don't get the 2nd lowest ERA over 5 years without being elite. He would be a perfect fit for this rotation.

My top two "bats" to target are Davis or Puig. A lineup with either looks pretty sexy.

1,000x this. Toronto will likely extend him this off-season anyways. If he were a hypothetical free agent, he would at least get 4 years/88 million. I actually could see the Bluejays offering him something close to that this off-season. Maybe 4/80 million.

As you said though, they already had the division wrapped up, they traded for him for him to pitch in October. Came up huge when it counted.

The Royals went for it at the deadline as well and it paid off (Zobrist and Cueto) You think Royals or Blue Jays fans are worrying about 4 years from now if a couple of the prospects they gave up "pan out"? nah....

Good for Cola, I am rooting for the Royals in the ALCS, but if Toronto wins I won't be too upset as both Hawkins and Cola would have more than earned it. Hopefully someone gives him a 2-3 year contract after this year and he gets some well earned money/security moving forward. I know we all like to be snarky about AAAA types and minor league types, but it's great to see guys like him defy the odds/stay the course.

I wonder if this has to do with the current DVR landscape of television? Debates, much like Sports are best viewed live (versus everything else on TV which is fine to DVR and watch an hour, a day or a week later)

Indeed. That performance alone might give him a 6 year deal instead of a 5 year deal. Dude has filthy stuff and is a great pitcher, was just a matter of time for him to shine.

Meh, I wouldn't go that far. At least they weren't throwing batteries like Twins fans were at Chuck Knoblauch, actually trying to HURT someone instead of showing displeasure like Blue Jays fans were.

I will piggyback on what Lev and others have said, he may in fact not be an intransigent person (nice word choice) but his tone especially if the first half didn't help anything. People don't like being yelled at which he seemed to be doing a lot of (which is where the comparisons to trump comes into play) Also I really think the fact he continues to call himself a socialist dooms any real chance of him winning the nomination/election and getting the middle to vote for him. Of course socialism is just a word, and has worked in other countries, however in the US it still has a very negative connotation for a lot of folks (right or wrong). Plus him saying he isn't a capitalist hurts his chances as well, plus it seems he wants to increase taxes which I am very much against. (Unless its only for people making 1+ million a year)

Yeah, him being safe at 2nd is just ridiculous, I will agree all day with that! The proper call IMO was: Runner safe at home and 1st, runner out at 2nd. Likely Mets get out of that inning before giving up another run.

I don't see a big deal with either thing to be honest. But if you want to change the rule, do it. Was it a dirty slide? Probably, does it deserve a suspension? Probably not, but Utley has done nothing else than 1000 other guys haven't done/would have done. I still go back to the point if it was a Twin doing it and it would have helped score the tying run would any of us complained? Prob not.
