  1. Man I don't see it, Rubio is just too far off the rails for me, now he is going after China today for their "two child policy" I love how he is leading the old "let's blame the liberal media durrrr" trope. That NEVER gets old and really makes a candidate look like a petulant child.
  2. No chance IMO, she is a nut. Terrible CEO, and wants to go invade every country, she clearly is in over her head just like she was when she was CEO at HP. Hard. Pass.
  3. Morneau would be a much better signing then Hunter ever was, but even so, I would pass for now.
  4. Santana is an all around mediocre player, though I would keep him as a util guy over Nunez or any of the other real options.
  5. Donaldson is the MVP of the league this year. They didn't send anyone of note for Tulo, who still can put together some great seasons for them. Price is the one who will walk, but that is what it is, I still commend him for that trade and "going for it"
  6. Uhhhh Beane isn't a GM any more, therefore obviously "everybody" didn't give him a "pass" Ryan is a Pohlad pocket protector first and foremost and a GM trying to win a title second.
  7. 17 years, one playoff series victories, you can make excuses all you want Brock, but those results are POOR for ANY franchise in ANY sport. The "let's see what Ryan does with money this off-season" seems to have been repeated multiple years in a row now. Fool me once, shame on me, fool me 17 times, time for the GM to go!
  8. That Reyes trade wasn't even that bad, they got Buerhle out of it as well, the only piece they gave up who became anything of note Escobar. Reyes was actually pretty solid for the Blue Jays in 13/14 and Johnson was a gamble that didn't pay off The only bad trade was the Dickey one.
  9. He's still very young, so the improvement will continue to come, but even so, his trading track record is hard to argue with. The only real "miss" was the RA Dickey trade, and it was a big miss, but all of the others look pretty damn good currently, especially the Donaldson one.
  10. Time to make a splash and set this team up for success, with Anthopoulos leaving the Blue Jays he is now baseball's hottest front office FA. I would love to see Ryan bring in Alex to run the complete show, Ryan could still stay on as a minor league/prospect/scout adviser (with a very good title) as that is his passion anyway. Anthopoulous would be GM and President of operations. Of course this would likely mean the end of St. Peter...which one could view as a positive as well. Get it done Twins!
  11. Cruz is slime. I would leave for Canada in a heartbeat as well, I already work for a Canadian company and I like hockey. I'm halfway there already!
  12. I'd take Zimmerman in a heartbeat on a 6 year deal. Definitely over Davis to be honest. Good idea on the rankings thought. As of now mine would be: Cueto Zimmerman Davis Cespedes (Price and Grienke are too much money IMO)
  13. Yup, also it might be worth going back and looking at who the twins have drafted in the first round (mid to late especially) over the years. Sure Gibson and hicks have worked out this far (took hicks 7 years fwiw and Gibson 5) but I think we would trade Wimmers, Michael, Bashore, Bard, Guiterezz etc for a chance to sign one of the elite power bats in the game. Power also is a "skill" that will last longer than speed, defense, etc you see with other players, there is a good chance that by the end of the 6 year contact that Davis is still mashing 30+ bombs a year.
  14. I wouldn't get hung up on losing a draft pick. Davis is the exact type of player that is worth losing one draft pick in one year (Twins pick 17th anyways) Odds are anyone drafted won't be able to contribute to the team for 4-5 years (if at all) The time to win is now.
  15. Selling what farm? Davis only costs money (and a draft pick, oh well) Instead of having Sano become Davis, how about having two davis'?
  16. Auto play video/sound ads have been out of control the past few days, also this site is now again buggy and slowing up my computer with "do you wish to stop running this script" prompts. Brock, I'm not trying to be a pain in the ass, but this is literally the only site I come to that has these issues. Can you please just go with a new ad network?
  17. Yeah, I haven't seen one person say "give up" I just think its been disappointing since we needed him to be a front of the rotation type, not a bullpen arm. If he can pitch like an elite bullpen arm then it softens the blow.
  18. I am going by Ryan's 17 years at the helm, he has never gone after a "prized type" free agent. Instead we settle for the mid rotation guys like Santana, Hughes etc and good but not great position players like Hunter, Willingham etc At no point has he shown any willingness to change this approach, so the "target field era" doesn't hold any weight IMO. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me 17 times? Meh.
  19. Welcome to TD Trevor!
  20. that's the problem thoUgh, cutting down walks is the toughest part.
  21. They already have plenty of in house CF options in hicks, Buxton and Rosario. I'm not opposed to signing an OF but it should be an OF with a big bat.
  22. no he didn't....
  23. Chris Davis would be a perfect addition to this lineup and instantly make it one of the best in baseball, especially with him protecting Sano. Won't happen though unfortunately, Terry Ryan has shown that he would rather overpay 3-4 years for proven mediocrity then go out and give 5 years on a risk to a high potential free agent.
  24. I will be happy if he becomes even an average bullpen arm at this point, disappointing prospect overall thus far. Twins needed him to become a front end of the rotation type, now we are hoping he can be a bullpen arm. Looking back on the Span for Meyer trade, the Nationals got the far better end of that deal thus far.
  25. 1. Didn't know the sportingnews the was still a thing. 2. If finishing 7th out of 15th wins you an award, I guess more power to you! Just think what could have happened if Molitor learned how to manage a pen and/or a lineup!
