  1. First off, I didn't say he would be a failure if he didn't hit .880, try again. I also didn't say 35 HR, so try again as well. And yes, if you are a "DH ONLY" type you should certainly be able to hit .820 and a "top 40 hitter" That isn't some ridiculously high bar. Just because the Twins have had terrible teams the last few years doesn't mean that suddenly a .760 OPS DH is a "good thing" The Mets, who have been referenced before as a "similar" team to the Twins had FIVE guys last year with .820 or better OPS. .820 should be the bare minimum for a DH. Also if you are a DH you should be able to hit 25 HR
  2. I think Colabelo is a perfectly acceptable bench bat/platoon guy who can mash lefties, but his hit tool is his only one and his 2015 was very much a by product of his completely unsustainable .411 BABIP It would be disappointing if Park becomes that, not because a player like that doesn't have value, but because he is the reason why we are shifting our best player to OF (Sano) and that money could have been spent on more pressing needs. Colabello is a solid 30-400 PA type guy at this stage who will mash lefties and will do ok against RHP IMO for an overally .750-.780 OPS. Park needs to be a 25-35 HR guy with a .820-.880 OPS
  3. The democrat I assume?
  4. I don't think it goes far enough, just think what we could accomplish if we arm fetuses?
  5. Yes, clearly Hilary hasn't done anything Secretary of state is pretty much a gig anyone would be suited for, no? :whacky028:
  6. Yeah the overtime rule is stupid as hell. Just make them get to the white flag no matter what, at that point, next flag ends it. A wreck on turn three shouldn't "end" the race. Pretty sure Junior would have ran him down. I mean I hate the #48, but it was as smart win by the crew chief. It is what it is i guess. Boring as hell race though. Cautions are a good thing.
  7. It's dumb to put them both in the pen, would they do well in the pen? Of course, but they also both could be pretty decent #3's. Look at what #3's get on the open market: 4 years at 10-15 million a year. Now look at what a good RP gets on the open market. 2-3 years at 4-7 million a year. Seems to me that you should keep your best SP in the rotation and go "pay" for some good to great RP help. Instead the Twins have decided to invest pretty much $40 million this year in a handful of mid rotation or back rotation guys (Nolasco, Santana, Hughes and Milone) That 40 million could have been spent on an ace pitcher (literally anyone) and you still would have had plenty of money left over to sign a couple awesome bullpen arms or a Milone type to fill out the back of the rotation. Or, you could have Cueto+Santana+Bastardo
  8. I actually never said that at all, so please don't use fake quotes and arguments to make your point.
  9. Yup, basically he has been exposed as a senator from Vermont who hasn't really worked on behalf of anyone but white folks ever since he has been in the senate, (he can talk all he wants, but actions speak louder than words) The Clintons have been helping out the black, Hispanic and other communities for the last 40 years. People made such a big deal about him almost winning Iowa (whitest state ever) and winning New Hampshire (lol) In reality, Hilary was never in danger at any point of not getting the nom, however this doesn't play well with the media so they basically propped up Sanders, an eccentric lifelong politician senator who really doesn't do anything and hasn't really done much in the senate. Prior to him running for POTUS nobody outside of Vermont knew who he was.
  10. Batman vs Superman is going to be such a terrible, terrible, terrible flick. Snyder is a freaking hack that somehow messes up literal perfect scripts/source materials. With this? I'd set the over/under on rotten tomatoes at 30% (most of which were bought off)
  11. Yeah I am a bit confused as well, but I love to see a TwinsCowboysBulls thread now and again.
  12. He is toast, Hilary will win 8-9 states minimum on super Tuesday. Again, Bernie can't win anything besides the young white vote. Hilary has the rest, South Carolina proves it.
  13. Is he the greatest PG of all time? Is he approaching it? My God, that game tonight was absolutely insane, if he isn't the best PG of all time, he might be the greatest pure shooter of all time, prior to tonight he was shooting 67% from beyond 28 feet. Oh you know what's coming next.... I wonder what Johnny Flynn is up to these days?
  14. Vegas has him at -300 to win the Republican Nominee, he isn't a stone cold lock, but it's pretty close.
  15. Avian Flu > Joe Mays
  16. Subtle, I dig it.
  17. Slow Friday eh?

  19. So basically you are saying the punishment for a violent play is more violence? When does it end then?
  20. I was at that game and saw the play in real time, Nishioka should/could have gotten out of the way very easily. I don't really give two damns about the "rules that were announced today" this play happened several years ago and it was a legal play. As far as calling out Gardy for no "payback" I applaud Gardy for that, throwing at another team (especially one that has owned you) is a stupid decision, it can only hurt your own team. Let's say they throw at Swisher or another good Yankee and break his arm, then suddenly Mauer takes one to the dome or arm and gets hurt as well, it's a lose-lose situation at that point. What's hilarious about Thrylos post on this is he condemns a takeout slide, but at the same time advocates a team/pitcher intentionally throwing at and hurting another player.
  21. Ah ok, I got it
  22. I think most people would prefer Milone over Hughes or Nolasco at this stage, but the problem is Hughes and Nolasco are stuck here for a while. People want Milone gone because he actually has trade value and thus opens up a spot for Berrios or May.
  23. I was at 2 of them and saw the other 7, he looked perfectly fine at third, not to mention he looked fine at 3rd in AAA as well. Convenient how you ignored the other two points of my post.
  24. I wouldn't either if I were him, I would be pissed if I was Miguel and I would be pissed if I were his (new) agent. I love how the Twins are also "concerned" about his weight as well, who gives a **** about his weight if he puts up a .900 OPS , 35 bombs and can hold his own at third? Sano hits the ball hard and has a little bit of swagger, thus he isn't the "Twins way" scrappy player they are used to, so instead of actually letting Sano do his thing and stay at his natural position they are making comments about his weight and sticking him at a position he hasn't played before. Sort of brings back nightmares of when the Twins had another young slugger from the DR and made these sort of comments....and tried to "fix" his swing....hmm Sano is an MVP type talent, you build AROUND players like that, you don't force players like that to play out of position for a guy like Trevor Plouffe and a complete unknown like Park. Only the Twins...only the Twins...
  25. Again disaster at third is highly unlikely at this stage. 1. He looked fine at 3B in the majors last year, his SSS advanced metrics back this up as well. 2. The Twins themselves have been saying for5+ years that he can stick at 3B 3. The consensus from scouts across the board is that Sano could play 3rd base for at least the first few years of his major league career. Why not take the risk? Everyone here seems so convinced that you can get a Freese or other good 3B for nothing in the trade market anyways, so in the rare event that Sano falls on his face at 3rd base (I'd say *;1 or 10:1 odds) then you can just trade for a 3rd baseman for nothing anyways, right?
