  1. Park factors etc aside, the thing that stands out to me the most with JR is his 25% strikeout rate thus far in the majors and complete inability to hit the curve. I saw him play quite a bit with NYY last year, color me completely unimpressed. He looks like he will be a decent back up C, but nothing more at this stage. This would be fine if the Twins still had a guy like Mauer behind the dish or a good (or hell even average starting catcher behind the dish) but this hardly solves any issues as Suzuki is still going to play in 50%+ of the games. I just wish they actually went out and solved the starting catcher issue.
  2. Sweeny has no business anywhere near the 25 man roster to start the season. If he makes the team over Arcia or Santana I may have to just boycott the season.
  3. It is a hitters park (beyond just home runs)
  4. Hey the Twins are to! Adding Sano to the OF and Abad to the bullpen is pretty much the same thing!
  5. Big 12 is by far the best conf this year. The one who I worry the most about is Kansas, Villanova is playing lights out. If they meet in the elite 8 I think whoever wins that game wins it all
  6. If it was any other "contending" team in baseball you might as well make it 500:1 odds, with TR/DSP/Pohlad regime though? I'd say it's 2:1 odds Nolasco "starts" the season in the rotation.
  7. That was the biggest choke in the history of chokes. My final four of KU, Oklahoma, Iowa State and UNC is still alive
  8. Oh yeah, I forgot about that third ring! The funny thing is, if Ortiz isn't on the Red Sox they probably don't even win ONE ring. Oh well, I'm sure the team would still rather have that 1.75 million or so they saved.
  9. Two mediocre catchers doesn't make a right, hopefully Murphy can hit like Seth says, I just don't see it. Hopefully the Twins can address the position long term later this season (dump Suzuki for anything you can get and trade for a legit starting catcher) or this off season.
  10. Then have him "play" in the bullpen. Starting Nolasco over Duffey will more than likely cost the Twins victories. Who gives a **** what his salary is. The goal is to win games, or at least it is supposed to be the goal.
  11. Ortiz just proves once again that literally everyone on this planet realizes that Sano should be playing 3rd base. Everyone but Ryan of course..... Ortiz two rings Ryan zero
  12. Keeping Quentin over Arcia would be an absolute disaster.
  13. Graham really doesn't have a real place on this roster. The twins should let him go somewhere were he can play and contribute
  14. I will enjoy winning a small fortune betting against the Twins every 5th game.
  15. First off, no need to call out individual posters bud, but since you did.Yes, I clearly don't understand baseball rosters, that is my problem. /sarcasm The problem with starting Nolasco 4-5 games over Duffey is that those 4-5 stinkers he may throw could cost the twins a wild card spot when it all comes down to it. Nolasco should not be starting ANY games until plan A, B and C all fail (or get injured) Let him earn it through pitching well in the pen and waiting his turn. Sending down Duffey to let Nolasco get any starts is simply absurd. What exactly did Duffey do in 2015 not to earn first crack at the 2016 rotation?? Especially over Nolasco!! Giving guy spots based on ST results is a terrible way to run a roster as well. (Unless you are dealing with rookies or reclamation projects)
  16. Thankfully April games only count 25% as much as August and Sept games!
  17. Uninspiring. I still can't believe we are actually going into the season with Sano in the OF. I didn't want to believe it, but here we are. Nolasco needs to be nowhere near the rotation and the Twins really have screwed Trevor May, which is unfortunate because he can be a solid #2/#3 in this league, the twins are basically robbing him of 60+ million additional in lifetime earnings. As the team looks now it looks to be a 70-76 win team, will 76 wins be enough to keep/save Ryan's and ST peters job? I hope not.
  18. There shouldn't be one in this case....
  19. If Trump goes into the convention with the most delegates pledged and somehow gets screwed out of it (i.e. the Ryan proposition) then Trump is going to go scorched earth on the party and run as an independent. In that scenario I don't think the GOP wins more than a couple states as Trump will continue to eat into the GOP base.
  20. Yuck, why?
  21. It shows the immaturity of a lot of his "supporter" base that clearly don't understand basic politics, how things work etc. And as I mentioned yesterday, you have people spending money they don't have helping him fund his campaign, after last nights 0 for 5 performance he has absolute no way to win the nomination, he should do the correct thing and either: 1. Stop accepting donations 2. Drop out and help bridge the gap between his supporters and the dest of the Dem. Get on the message that we need to beat Trump, him continuing this lost campaign on only hurts the Dems overall as he continues to paint an impossible utopia for many of his followers. ("Wait, you mean I have to PAY my student loans if Bernie doesn't win?)
  22. Fair enough. Again, I'm not saying the poor/sick/elderly shouldn't be taken care of, I am saying that the way SS has been set up the govt and the people have literally known for DECADES that this whole thing would blow up/run out. Now it's my generation and my kids generation who have to pay for it. When this could have been at least somehow avoided oh, anytime in the last 25 years...
  23. Bernie "supporters" https://imgur.com/rB3SOYg
  24. My issue with SS is it's going to be completely gone in 20 years, which doesn't help my current generation in the least when they get old and sick..... The idea was/is fine, the implementation was a freaking disaster and ended up screwing us (Anyone currently under 40) in the long run. Medicare is for the sick FYI. SS doesn't have to "make money" as you say, but then again you should see at least a better than a $0 return on the investment one has paid into for all those years, as of now that money will be gone and a whole generation will have basically lit thousands of dollars a year on fire.
