  1. I do think the plan could be from trading their pitching to fill one of these spots? For example, who is the best 1B that SWR could get in a trade? But yeah, this offseason and into next year will be telling for the direction. I also fully expect a lockout after next season, so all of this is going to be just a crazy time to try to follow and love Twins baseball in my opinion.
  2. I don't see any way that any of the names you actually listed are still with the team after this season
  3. Small sample of what I will present, but since the end of July (or at least the past month, since 7/26/25) he is hitting 242/314/453. That's a wRC+ of 112. I HAVE to think knowing he'll be at SS each day hasn't hurt. And yes it's a small sample, but it's POSSIBLE there is something there. I hope it does continue.
  4. Do you think Lewis's 75th percentile outcome for 2026 is closer to his 2025 season production or his 2023 season production? I tend to think he can find a way to get back closer to what he was in 2023 with a full/healthy offseason. But if you truly believe the 2025 version IS what Royce is, then so be it.
  5. I don't think this example is relevant for a baseball team. I mostly care about his bat being in the lineup and him helping on defense when he is ready. Now, if we were arguing about him playing at SS or at Catcher I would agree with you.
  6. Maybe on the bench. But if younger players are performing more to their career norms, he isn't performing well enough to start anywhere. I mean, do you enjoy seeing someone with a .281 on base percentage listed as a starter?
  7. If Jenkins is up and producing, does it matter if he is in cf or lf or rf? Really? That said, maybe Buxton is the one that moves to a corner at some point. I could see that too.
  8. I have a hard time seeing Royce go, but if he is traded he would bring back something. Still, his savant page is a LOT more red than Lee's for example. Why not Royce at 1B if that is the case? Otherwise maybe Keaschall could be in left with Culpepper at 2b? Hard to pencil E Rod in anywhere at this point. I'd love to be wrong.
  9. Agree to disagree. They better be overwhelmed to trade one of them. If a team wants a playoff level starter with multiple years of control they better be ready to pay. I don’t see a scenario where both are traded. But if one is (my guess is Ryan IF one is traded) then they are getting a lot back
  10. I get that. I more just meant I have a hard time seeing them trading either Ryan or Lopez and NOT getting back help that will be here for 2026. Doesnt mean I think they will compete for a World Series next year. And who knows what 2027 looks like with a potential/probable stoppage. But let’s say they trade one of them for a middle of the order type bat plus. That would certainly make 2026 more interesting in my opinion
  11. Either of them still bring back a LOT more than anyone traded at this last deadline. I know we are all down on them at the moment, but just wiping it away saying you are certain both are traded without accounting for what comes back feels off to me. Or do you really think other teams view Ryan or Lopez as valuable as the cardboard cutouts that were in seats in the 2020 season?
  12. Let's say they are both moved. I don't see that happening, but let's play it out. Both are traded. What are the returns? Do you think they are trading both for players that could be up in 2028? Or do you think they are getting guys for 2026?
  13. Wallner, for everything with the batting average, still has a LOT of red in his baseball savant page. But I get what you are saying. I don't know about Emma. Hard to know what you have. Hopefully he can stay on the field. Gonzalez, I've only heard ok things about this defense. From what I can tell he wouldn't be near the top of the pecking order on the defensive spectrum. I guess I view Outman (if things work out ok) more like a Michael A Taylor/4th OF replacement than anything. Roden I view as a Larnach replacement until someone like Jenkins (or someone else) is ready.
  14. Especially with Jenkins on the way, I think seeing if Wallner could take a 1B in the next year or so makes a lot of sense.
  15. This draft does have a consensus #1 upcoming though, at least as far as I can tell. SS Roch Chowlowsky from UCLA.
