  1. Tim Kirkjian was saying on baseball tonight a few days ago that the Tampa Bay Rays only have three 6 hr games in their whole franchise history, the Royals have two, and the Marlins and Padres only have one. We have four this season and it's not even June!
  2. Problem is Adrianza's been playing pretty well this season when called upon too
  3. "I see a lot of pessimism when it comes to sports. And who can blame you?" I was talking with my dad (who is a native Minnesotan and a life long Minnesota sports fan) recently about the Twins hot start and how they are one of the top teams in the whole league. His response was "we have to wait, it's still early, we'll probably screw it up somehow!" Boy has a lifetime of Minnesota sports conditioned him well
  4. I haven't been able to watch much Twins this year since my move to the UK but I caught this one. I've never noticed Garver's pitch framing before but it caught my eye today. Kind of an interesting approach, he frames the pitch and then drops his glove to the ground and pulls it back up to catch it. I wonder if this is a habit that he formed by accident or if it's an intentional thing? Seems like it might be an advantage for borderline calls to kind of fool the ump. Anyways just an observation, go Twins!
  5. I've gotta be honest, in the off season it seemed to me like we were bargain hunting, with Perez, Schoop, and Cron it looked like we were trying reclamation projects. Even Cruz was an old has been. The FO seems to have known what they were doing. The Twins are Legit as long as we can stabilize the pen
  6. No need to eat crow, you're a Twins fan, we're conditioned to expect the worst and when things are going well there's always the feeling of "when are things gonna fall apart?!" It just comes with the territory
  7. 2019 WS Champs baby, WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
  8. Yes to the universal DH, baseball purists like the pitcher to bat but ever since the introduction of the DH it has trickled down to all levels of competition, so many of these pitchers have not taken a swing at live pitching since little league. It's even worse during interleague play. At this point it's just become silly and is mostly just an automatic out, that to me ruins the competition aspect of the game. Seems weird to try and enforce the anti tanking rule, I mean, what if they are not actually trying to tank? The Royals and Pirates were bad enough about 10 years ago that they would've been penalized for just being bad and I'm pretty sure they were trying and not tanking
  9. I never understood the Joe hate, he was an amazing player and an all time Twins great, I think people just wanted to blame the post season woes and losing seasons on him which is completely unfair
  10. What's the record for one run losses in a season?
  11. I wonder why Kowar and McClanahan dropped, maybe their demands were too high
  12. I'm aware of the circumstances at the time, my point was from the previous poster's comment that it's not as simple as "take the best pitcher," you never wanna pass on a possible generational talent because you need pitching
  13. We did that in 2009 and ended up passing on Trout for Gibson
  14. I like these things! Thanks for doing them. Doesn't matter from a Twins perspective but I would be really concerned about Mize. I don't know why but his mechanics make me think he's gonna have shoulder issues sooner of later. He does this little shoulder dip at the end of every pitch and every pitcher I've watched who does that has a mirade of shoulder issues. I never hope for injury for a player but if he doesn't clean that up I'm afraid it's gonna come up
  15. 11 on run losses and another 3 two run losses. That's exactly half of our losses have come in the close game variety. If we were even average in that category we are on top of the division and over .500
  16. It feels like 2/3 of our losses have been by one or two runs, how many walk offs have we had so far? It's pretty demoralizing to know we've been so close so many times
  17. I thought we were under valuing Pearson going into the season, I'm glad he's off to a good start! on another note all of these minor league clips look straight out of 1992, we need some better cameras in the minors for sure
  18. "At the end of March, Logan Morrison was looking like a bad signing for the Minnesota Twins" Slow down here, at the end of March we had only played 2 games, kind of hard to look like a bad signing after 2 games
  19. For a 6'11" guy Hjelle actually has pretty clean mechanics (from that video posted). But man I was just worried the whole time his legs were gonna snap like twigs! Even if we don't draft him I hope he makes it to the Majors, not a lot of 6'11" guys in baseball
  20. I'm sad that the headline was not "It's gonna be May" with a pic of Justin Timberlake.......#missedopportunities
