  1. Josh Willingham (shoulder) may miss the rest of the season. Willingham is out of the lineup for the third straight game with a sprained ligament in his shoulder. He still felt a "pinch" while trying to swing the bat Friday, so the Twins will likely play things safe and let him heal. Source: John Shipley on Twitte
  2. Twins general manager Terry Ryan said Friday that it's "more than likely" that Samuel Deduno (eye) is done for the season. Deduno left Thursday's start with left eye irritation and apparently isn't getting much better. Assuming he's done, he'll finish the year with a 4.44 ERA and 57/53 K/BB ratio over 79 innings in 15 starts. Anthony Swarzak or Brian Duensing will replace him Tuesday against the Blue Jays. 3. Beware of nl pitchers.
  4. The P.R. guys come buy tickets. It's bull ****......
  5. Francisco Liriano allowed two runs over seven innings in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Twins. Liriano gave up just one hit on the day, a two-run homer by Trevor Plouffe with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning. The southpaw struck out nine, walked two and hit a batter in the win. Not bad for a guy who was originally expected to be skipped in the rotation. He has presumably bought himself another start in the rotation next week. Sep 15 - 4:01 PM
  6. Francisco Liriano was pulled after allowing four runs in 3 2/3 innings Tuesday against the Indians. Had Gordon Beckham made a better feed on a double-play ball, Liriano would have began the fifth inning having allowed just one run. However, Beckham's poor throw prevented the White Sox from escaping the fourth inning, and Liriano couldn't recover afterwards. Liriano took the loss, leaving him 3-2 with a 5.40 ERA in 56 2/3 innings for the White Sox. Sep 25 - 4:52 PM
  7. Samuel Deduno left Wednesday's start against the Twins in the second inning after experiencing left eye irritation. Deduno tried to convince Ron Gardenhire that he was OK to stay in the game, but he lost that battle. He tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings before being replaced by Brian Duensing. 8. That's why they play the game.
  9. Those old guys can play baseball, and are without Teixeira & Gardner, a great home team too.
  10. The Captain never miss a game. The HOFer is still on top of his game. He will never retire.
  11. I think we can get to Pettitte.
  12. I'm in 2 keeper dynasty 12 team leagues. I would keep Napoli, Rizzo, Lawrie, A Gon, Braun & Stanton. Then draft pitching early.
  13. Rain out just kills now Tiges sweep!
  14. Pohlads needs more money to pad his pockets, it's going to be a cold winter.
  15. Twins got there hitting lineup in to nite, watch them roll.
  16. Pretty simple, if you want to win you pay or sit in last place and be a cheapskate.
  17. I hope they don't go for 4.
  18. 3 catchers in the lineup again, must be tough to field a team.
  19. Mike Trout is my MVP. Say what you want about the triple crown stats, but Trout's been so much more valuable on the basepaths and with the glove that if you look past homers and RBIs, it's not even really that close. Cabrera might have taken one for the team in moving to third, but by most metrics (and by the eye test) he's the worst (or second-worst) third baseman in the league defensively, so he isn't offering value there. And he's not burning up the basepaths either, nor can you give either credit for 'carrying the team to the postseason' or being 'all alone' on a good team...
  20. Great another catcher.
  21. I think it should be up to Scott. If he feels great and wants to pitch let him. If he is hurting, tired and having problems, he should take a rest.
  22. Twins win, but no one cares.
  23. ... Matt Capps will begin facing batters this week. He could rejoin the Twins’ bullpen for their final series of the season
  24. Delmon Young knocked in three of the Tigers' four runs with a pair of singles on Monday. Young has been a star against the White Sox in his career, hitting .333 with 13 homers and 54 RBI in 294 at-bats. That's one homer every 23 at-bats. He's hit .264 and averaged one homer every 40 at-bats against everyone else.
