  1. The Twins will call up Kris Johnson from Triple-A Rochester to star the second game of Thursday's doubleheader versus the Dodgers. He'll be the 26th man and will get sent back down right after the outing. However, Johnson has a chance to make a good impression with the rest of the Twins' rotation struggling. The 29-year-old left-hander has put up a 2.86 ERA over his first four starts at Triple-A. Source: Dustin Morse on Twitter
  2. Count your chickens before they hatch. a hour early and a day late, it's the Twins way.
  3. Mauer has got to count as the 3rd catcher on the team. There is no reason that he can't catch a few games.
  4. Crap! A few bad trades didn't ruin the team.
  5. Drew would be the Twins best lead off hitter since Carew!
  6. Why even buy pitchers if you don't improve your bats. Why wait when you can improve now. Ryan why only half a team?
  7. Vegas say 65 I will take the under!
  8. Is Mauer 5th catcher?
  9. The Twins will find out that Mauer at 1b is not a good idea!
  10. How many dh and OFers do we need?
  11. Braves got a great bat ,Twins got a??? Saves money we don't need saving!
  12. Great signing! Kubel Kubel Kubel
  13. Why didn't the Twins resign him they will never replace his bat.
  14. WOW! that must hurt.
  15. A great trade for both teams! It puts fans in the seats too.
  16. Twins manager Ron Gardenhire acknowledged that the team won't promote Aaron Hicks this month. "This is a good breather for him," Gardenhire said. "Hopefully he'll come back with a little attitude." Hicks had a nightmare season, but it's interesting that Gardenhire and the front office continue to feed the media platitudes that imply this situation is the center fielder's fault. Quite simply, that's intellectually dishonest. Minnesota rushed Hicks into the Opening Day roster as a 23-year-old who'd never taken a Triple-A at-bat. He predictably struggled, though nobody knew he'd manage to hit only .192/.259/.338. Hicks' attitude doesn't need adjusting, in all likelihood. Baseball America's No. 72 prospect coming into the year just needs more experience. The attitude of Twins' management on this subject, however, is another story. Source: Mike Berardino on Twitter

  19. Francisco Liriano's $5 million option for 2014 has vested. It vested after the left-hander spent 90 days on the Pirates' active roster this season. He'll have the chance to bump his 2014 salary up to $6 million and could earn an addition $2 million in performance bonus. Obviously, if he stays healthy and pitches anything like he has this season, he'll be a bargain. Source: Travis Sawchik on Twitter
  20. The Twins aren’t unfamiliar with their players dealing with concussions, as first baseman Justin Morneau, former outfielder Denard Span and former third baseman Corey Koskie all missed months on end due to post-concussion issues. The club is hoping Joe Mauer doesn’t go down the same path.
  21. What kind of lineup is that? A spring training one!
  22. Without Justin Twins wouldn't win a game.
