    P.J. Walters held the Tigers to two runs over seven innings Saturday in a 3-2 Twins victory. The Twins had a 3-0 lead after the top of the first inning so Walters simply pounded the strike zone, allowing eight hits but issuing only one walk against the dangerous Tigers attack. Walters had some solid numbers at Triple-A Rochester and should get some more looks in Minnesota, but he's never going to be a good fantasy option. The Twins' losing streak is over at 10 games.

    Danny Valencia launched a two-run homer and drew a walk in Saturday's win over the Blue Jays. Valencia, who was called up from the minors last week, has now homered in back-to-back games.

    It's still a little to early to tell. You can't pin this all on Gardy. It was Ryan that couldn't afford a SP, didn't need any infield help and traded away all there centerfielders!

    Twins purchased the contract of RHP P.J. Walters from Triple-A Rochester. That means we'll have to wait a little longer for Kyle Gibson to arrive. Walters and Samuel Deduno will join the rotation this weekend, taking the spots vacated by Vance Worley and Pedro Hernandez. He's put up a 3.31 ERA with 46 strikeouts over 54 1/3 innings this season at Rochester.

    Pedro Florimon Jr. left Thursday's game against the Tigers with a right index finger sprain. It's not clear how long the malady might sideline the infielder. Eduardo Escobar took Florimon's spot at shortstop Thursday.

    Twins transferred OF Darin Mastroianni from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. The move clears a spot for Chris Colabello on the 40-man roster. Mastroianni is scheduled to undergo surgery Wednesday to repair a bone chip on his left ankle and will be sidelined until the second half of the season.

    Twins optioned RHP Vance Worley to Triple-A Rochester. No word yet on whether Kyle Gibson will be the choice to replace him, but don't count it out. The Twins acquired Worley from the Phillies over the winter in hopes that he would be a productive member of the starting rotation, but he has been anything but. After being knocked around for eight runs in 3 2/3 innings Wednesday by the Braves, the 25-year-old has an ugly 7.21 ERA across 10 starts. If Worley can turn things around in the minors, he figures to get another chance soon.
