  1. Next year, Royce Lewis please. I know Polanco has a contract, but he can play...I don't know, fifth catcher.
  2. Yesterday, even when the Twins were winning the game, they were talking more about how good Darvish was and about the Yankees than about the game itself
  3. Because being perfect is very difficult
  4. Now that he is getting more confident, I am impressed by Wade. He does al the fundamentals right. He doesn't have a lot of power, but seeings his at bats is a pleasure. And in the field he isn't bad either.
  5. Not that worried about the bullpen, but the offense has to wake up a bit. We are not going to win a lot of games scoring a total of 8 runs in 3 games. The big problem is that injuries are starting to mount. I hope Kepler is Ok.
  6. And yet the Twins are 1st in the American league in run differential (2nd to the Dodgers overall) and 2nd in the AL only behind Cleveland in run against (even with a lot of injuries in the starting rotation) Go figure....
  7. Just by the eye, and probably someone has the data on this, in both cases their braking ball seems to be flatter. Maybe they are working on something.
  8. What can be more disrespectful to the game and to the opponent than not to play as hard as you can?
  9. One thing that I understood is that minor leagers that are not in the 60-man camp cannot be included in trades. If this is so, the buyers won't have much currency to pay. Am I mistaken?
  10. More than the results, some bad baseball worries me. Poppen wasn't even pay attention to the bases. Garver was not even close on the steals and the 2 wild pitches were a little bit his fault too. And except for Gonzalez, Cruz, Kepler Polanco Buxton, the rest of the hitters are not contributing. I hope losing 3 in a row is a wake up call.
  11. We can, if you want, argue all day long about Sano's defense at 1B after 6 games, a short training schedule, and an even shorter one for him. OR, we can acknowledge he has mostly looked good at 1B, has all the talent in the world to be a good defensive 1B, and is still developing there and feeling his way. (Something we all knew would be true). I think in that play he was caught in between, but also Thorpe was late in going to first base. Sano made the first movement to go for the ball. Right there Thorpe should have gone to first base. It was not all Sano's fault
  12. This pretty much sums up where we are now. And it is not a joke!
  13. I think it is more a when that an if. In half of the country the cases are increasing.
  14. The senseless death of George Floyd made it clear how hostile our environment is for african americans. And made think a big chunk of our people on how to change this. One way is to remove statues that recognize people that did blatant racist acts. I don't know what Mr. Grifith felt in his heart but what he said was blatantly racist. So, we must recognize that his statue could bother african americans. The fact that we didn't care until now speaks of how insensitive we were until now. Well, now we know. Get rid of it.
  15. I guess all depends on the numbers, and not precisely baseball numbers. More like, number of new cases per day, number of people recovered, number of deaths, etc. Baseball is going to take a back seat for a while.
  16. Wow!! Come to think that batting Polanco 8th is not absurd, gives an idea of the depth of this line up
  17. You know, now I am getting paranoid about the games in Yankee stadium last year that the Yankees seemed to be on every pitch
  18. I think, as most expression of regret in situations like this, we can just ignore them. They say what the PR person tell them to say.
  19. What sounds weird, and somehow fishy, was that the Red Sox didn't say: "We saw the medicals, and no, we don't want this player". They said we want him, but we want something else too. That is what it makes sound the medicals as an excuse.
  20. If you are going to list these guys, how come you forget about Bartolo the eternal?☺
  21. I would like that someone that knows more baseball than me (not a very high standard) could explain me what Boyd has over Thorpe, other than the MLB experience. Both are lefties that don't throw very hard for today's standard, and strike out they share of people. Regarding to results, as someone else said, Boyd had half a good year, not much more than that. My fear is that doing that trade, we would be getting more or less the same pitcher, only more expensive and we would lose Larnach.
  22. Hmm! Is it my anxiety or this is not looking good? Out of Wheeler, Hamels to the Braves. At this rate it is going to be Berrios, Odorizzi, and the kids.
  23. I totally share the kids feelings and fears. And I am over 60.
