  1. Nice first inning and Pablo goes 1-2-3 when he comes out with the lead.
  2. How many late leads has López surrendered? I recall two, if that is "repeatedly doesn't work"--ok.
  3. If I’m Rocco I’m pinch-hitting for MAT as well as Vázquez.
  4. To quote fictional character Clay Davis (portrayed by an alumnus of my alma mater Isiah Whitlock Jr.)—sheee*******tt.
  5. Aggressive Rocco should bat for one or both of these guys.
  6. I know the Jays haven't won much lately, but didn't they put up 20 in a game against Tampa? Wouldn't surprise me if they got double digits in one game in this series.
  7. I'm sure there is a rationale for who is playing and who isn't, but it is really beyond me. The one thing that is pretty near certain is that Gallo is still bothered by the hamstring.
  8. Vázquez needs to get it going. I'm ready to see more of Jeffers and less of Vázquez.
  9. Yes, the Twins have been disappointing, but so have a number of other teams. At just above .500 almost two months in, the Twins lead the division. They have had shortcomings so far, but they have time to fix them.
  10. The Royals slogan: "At least we're not Oakland".
  11. Not exactly. His rehab (20 days) can be extended through the 31st. The Twins could keep him on rehab through that date and activate him on June 1 without having to option him.
  12. Trevor Megill is back in the majors, pitching out of the Milwaukee bullpen.
  13. I wonder if Lewis will be ready on 5/29. He's not in the lineup for the Saints tonight and hasn't yet played on back-to-back days and I believe he's topped out at seven innings per game. Maybe June 1 is the more likely date for his recall.
  14. Gary Sánchez gets DFA from the Mets. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/05/mets-designate-gary-sanchez-for-assignment.html
  15. The two best teams in the Central the past two weeks are playing each other in Detroit. I won't rule out the White Sox either. Their defense, with Moncada at third and Anderson at short isn't bad. Their starting pitching is coming around and they have several good offensive players. Detroit has been one of the most efficient defensive teams this year. They have a lot of good arms and a suspect offense, to be sure. If they can find guys to increase the offensive output, they might contend, but I think too many are a year away and they have had too many pitching injuries.
  16. Lewis should be staying with the Twins, full stop. The vacancy this year is third base. Kyle Farmer is a nice lefty killer/infield backup, but he shouldn't stand in the way of Lewis. I hope Lewis (and Julien) add some base stealing, as well. Both have had success in the minors (in his limited play this year, I believe Lewis has stolen four bases already). Added to Buxton's increasing attempts and there may be more generation of runs without homers.
