  1. Note that I should not be one to talk.
  2. This is how it feels to beat the Yankees.
  3. Hughes, Gibson, Nolasco, Meyer, May. Johnson and Darnell replace Duensing and either Deduno or Swarzak. Berrios moves up, but not all the way. Pelfrey likely winds up in the pen, instead of Guerrier, Tonkin instead of Burton. Burdi is perhaps the wild card.
  4. It's a good rivalry with the White Sox, but I reserve actual scorn for the Yankees and the Cowboys.
  5. Firefly was good. And at least they had Serenity as a follow-up. Another series I thought died young was Terra Nova. For now Walking Dead and Falling Skies are what I follow. Who, of course, and it would be nice if Torchwood gets some kind of update. And I still hold out hope for Agents of Shield.
  6. I'll put aside my Thomas Covenant fetish and just bring up the old-schoolers Fritz Leiber and L. Sprague de Camp. And Bob Asprin is a trip if you're not familiar. Followed him since the Thieves' World days.
  7. Thanks. I'll take a look but I'm pretty deep in the Pathfinder camp these days.
  8. Don't most of them already have their TC Bear shirts on?
  9. The final season of Enterprise was quite good, other than the horrible finale. DS-9 was easily my favorite, suffering only in comparison to Babylon 5. But DS-9 gave us Vic Fontaine and Morn, which elevates it.
  10. Well they used to switch-hit. But then they just got naked instead.
  11. Be a little careful with the CDC...
  12. If it prevents a single head injury it will be well worth it. Probably a little investment in materials science will restore the size. Around Bert, people would need protective shoes as well.
  13. It's called self-selection bias.
  14. Perhaps in the future it would be prudent if individual posters did not try to speak for larger segments of the board than themselves. I absolutely guarantee none of you speak for me.
  15. Sounds like a good description of Matthew LeCroy.
  16. Out of curiosity, if May had been called up, made a start, and then had a calf strain and was placed on the 15-day DL, that would be OK with people? No one would be calling for anybody's heads? Apologies for the run-on sentence. There are a great many terms and conditions which apply, given the TV courtroom-style adversarial debate format.
  17. "Screw you, Jobu. I do it myself."
  18. A little bit country; a little bit rock and roll.
  19. Except they'd never be free.
  20. Ok, yes, I follow Wil. Deal with it.
