  1. MTM and Elvis.
  2. Little bit. Also, the order for the Great Wall of Mexico was issued today, I think.
  3. RIP Mary Tyler Moore.
  4. Yeah, it was a near impossible call to make. Probably the best of the bad options available. I'm personally grateful since I likely wouldn't be here if my father had to fly over an invasion of the Japanese islands. Still the pandora's box this opened has hung over the planet ever since. And that may have been inevitable, but again maybe it wasn't. I don't know.
  5. Back to the subject of remakes, here's a list of some in the works (113, to be precise). http://www.denofgeek.com/us/movies/reboots/248590/113-movie-remakes-and-reboots-currently-in-the-works Why on earth anyone thinks they can surpass Big Trouble in Little China or Das Boot or Highlander or Major League or, geez!, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, is way beyond me. WTF, people. Remake Seven Samurai? Boycott!
  6. Definitely Jennifer Connelly. And I would be remiss not to mention Sigourney Weaver as well.
  7. Governor Dayton will be pleased to hear that, I'm sure.
  8. Here's what our friends in the Minnesota GOP would like to make optional to insurer's: http://abetterminnesota.org/2017/01/see-all-of-the-things-minnesota-republicans-would-let-insurance-companies-skip-covering/ It looks like erectile dysfunction is still covered, though.
  9. I was a bit reluctant to bring her up here. Since her father is from Kansas City she's a Royals fan. I can overlook that.
  10. Occasionally questioning one's sanity is among the best ways to retain it.
  11. Don't forget Bill Nye and Neil DeGrasse Tyson.
  12. Week 1. https://docs.google.com/document/d/10PMC2_XtiHhMe84fcqII-zrI4nopBYt1-YRuQp7yk4M/mobilebasic
  13. You have good taste.
  14. Start with Hayley Atwell and see where that takes you.
  15. I've never really worried about being a magnet for anyone. I suppose if I had to pick someone to morph into maybe Sam Elliot.
  16. Women I associate with have put Cumberbatch and Idris Elba and Depp at the top of their lists. The older ones have mentioned Redford and Chamberlain. There was a universal memorial swoon for Cary Grant.
  17. Here's my abbreviated list of ladies I'd love to have a conversation with. J. K. Rowling Michelle Obama Christiane Amanpour Amy Mainzer Lady Gaga. Mostly I'd listen.
  18. I confess to a certain fondness for this remake.
  19. Even crappy baseball will be a welcome respite from this off season.
  20. Star Trek V, The Final Frontier. Great start right up until director Shatner tried to make it funny.
  21. I can think of two remakes that worked really well by changing the settings. The Magnificent Seven, and Star Wars. Though the originals were also amazing classics, one perhaps the finest film ever made. They just suffered in the U.S. because of subtitles.
  22. Key spoiler shot from Episode VIII.
  23. It's just opening the way for "Re-return of the Jedi" down the road.
  24. Always sad to lose the young.
